The rise in ULEZ and CAZ across the country has seen numerous motorists send their cars for scrappage because they aren't compliant with local rules. One Belfast car dealer has warned people not to be hasty in sending for scrap.

Sellers warned not to undervalue their cars as many send for scrappage

With the London ULEZ extension due to come in on October 25th, there’s been an influx of people looking to sell their car to make sure it's compliant with the new regulations.

Motorists are being urged, however, to not undervalue their existing cars just because they’re not ULEZ compliant.

Numerous owners have reportedly taken their cars to be scrapped when they actually carried a resale value.

One London resident had driven this Clio to a scrapyard expecting either that it didn’t have a resale value or that it couldn’t be used elsewhere, given it’s not ULEZ compliant.

Luke McCorry, a Belfast-based car salesman, knew differently however, and flew over to London via Luton to collect the V reg Clio with just over 31,000 miles on the clock, knowing it would still find a happy home somewhere yet.

Luke said the Clio 'tackles the motorway like a new car, the AC is freezing and the leather is super comfy'.
