Let me start by saying sales department brilliant and would buy a car from them again. However we had our first issue with the service department on purchase when the car went to be prepared for us and an Audi specific boot net went missing from the car and never found! I like to take a car back for its first MOT after purchase to the dealership I purchased from incase there are any issues. The car was failed on a cut to one of the tyres where the cord could be seen. When I checked the car myself at home I could see there was a 20mm cut which could not be opened and definitely did not show any cord. The car was booked in for a re MOT within the following 2 weeks. Volvo then went into lockdown (totally understandable) but with no communication to their customers at all. At the end of June I was notofied they were open again. I had to contact them 3 times before I could finally get the car booked back in. During this time the car had barely been used as it was potentially dangerous, but it had been looked at by 2 other garages who both confirmed the tyre was defintely not an MOT faliure. On the morning I had one last look at the tyre, you could not open the cut but sadly I did not photograph it. At Doves I explained the situation, they said they would look at it again at some point during the day and call me. They called and stated they would charge full price for the MOT as it had not been booked in within 10 days of the failure. They changed their mind on this when I reminded them that they closed without warning. They then stated they were still failing the car if the MOT`d it again. I told them not to conduct the MOT. When I went to collect the car I asked to see the cut. They put the car up on a ramp they showed me the cut straight away I stated the cut did not look like that when I dropped the car off in the morning. They obviously disagreed. Then then got a very thick tool which they put into the cut which had now gone from a small slight curved cut to an L shape cut going down to the wheel rim. They then opened the cut, pulled it back to show a very small amount of core, all of which now makes it a MOT fail. However it ABSOLUTELY was not in that condition when it was dropped off to them. It had originally been booked in for a service with them as well. They had not given me a quote and then wanted a rediculous price, I cancelled the service! I would never ever take my car there again.
