I am really unhappy with the service I received from Newcastle Auto Centre. I was originally told the clutch replacement would cost just over £1,000. I confirmed this again over the phone and by message. However, when I went to collect my car, I was suddenly charged £1,832 – almost double the price I was quoted.
They repeatedly told me “trust us, we’ll provide the service,” but the final cost was nowhere near what they had agreed.
When I questioned the price increase, they claimed the job took 16 hours because they “couldn’t remove the bolts.” My dad is a mechanic and said a clutch job should not take 16 hours, and that if bolts were an issue, they could have easily been ground off. When I asked the garage for more detail, they couldn’t clearly explain why the job supposedly took so long or why the cost jumped so dramatically.
I feel misled, overcharged, and taken advantage of. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Newcastle Auto Centre.
