The driving test includes 'show me tell me' vehicle safety questions that are easy to answer so long as you have prepared properly. Towards the start of the test, the examiner asks a 'tell me' question. You might have to explain how to check the car's brake lights work, for example, and then later in the test, the examiner asks a 'show me' question. This, for instance, requires you to 'show' the examiner how to turn on your car's rear window demister.
Clearly, it's best to answer your two questions correctly but it isn't the end of the world if you get your questions wrong. If you get one or both questions wrong, the examiner notes a driving fault. This is also known as a minor. You can get up to 15 minor faults and still pass.
How to prepare for ‘show me tell me’ questions
'Show me tell me' questions must come from an approved list. The examiner cannot ask you anything that comes to mind. To prepare, study the list and note the answers. It helps if you study the car that you'll be using in your test, too. Make sure you know how to open the bonnet and use the controls and also get your instructor to ask you questions from the list so you can get some extra practice in.
