Dishonest family dealership selling poor quality, faulty cars not fit for sale. Terrible customer service, left me with a non driveable car that broke down twice, within 4 weeks of collection then again the same fault after 2 months Purchase a BMW i3 on 16/5. Within 1 hour of collection reported 2 minor faults noticed on the way home-. Alex immediately became dismissive and showed his poor attitude..firstly he denied that feature was even present on the car ( comfort door access) and that the auto trader listing may be inaccurate. I said then the car has been missold then. Showed a picture of the in car menu and picture of the pre collection fault code scan to show that a) The car did have comfort access and B that it was faulty and not rectified before I collected the car. Alex then said he could look at it buts not something they would normally cover on the warranty ( along with broken climate control recirculation) because it was electrical. This despite me reporting them within 1 hour of collection and a confirmed faults on the paper work accidentally given to me with that car. I was too busy to chase this up then... Afew weeks later more serious fault developed, the gear selector became faulty and intermittent . After Alex failure to help before I simply asked him via email several times for the aftermarket warranty information; but was ignored. The car then because completely stuck and would not move or engage drive. I informed Alex who could not assist in having it recovered. It was blocking my drive and access to my garage. I had the car recovered & due to serious/ complex nature of the fault ( within 4 weeks of collection on 11 June) they said it would need to go a specialist and it could take weeks. Due to his previous dishonesty and slowness to respond , I wished to reject the car for a refund but was declined my right as he said I accepted the repair (but this before I found out it might take them up to 4 weeks) At this point the car was still stuck outside the garage and no repair had started, but they forced to let them repair it and they gave me courtesy car. It was absolutely filthy inside , covered in food and dog hair, and an MOT check showed it has cracked tyres- which were over 10 years old. I was obviously not keen on driving a lightly and unsafe car with my children but had no choice.. 2 weeks later the car was returned supposedly fixed . The original faults with comfort access and climate control were still present. An attached fault code list prior to date of sale also showed a permanent fault with the gear selector amongst other things which worried me alot. Now in the beginning of August, the car broke down again being stuck in drive and immobile . I informed Alex who again offered no apology or assistance to recover the vehicle. I again had it recovered at own inconvenience to the dealer where the now is now sitting outside . This was all within 3 months of purchase. I have not received any update regarding my request to reject the car due to failure to fix the fault. I also sent a polite email regarding some toys my son in the car which was again ignored. I travelled to the car to retrieve the belonged myself to find it was let open and unsecure! I emailed again regarding this and for an update and still response. The dealership are aware I require the car to transport my family and are absolutely zero rush to help or even respond or provide a refund . They have failed to respond in a timely manner to the finance company. When informed the faults were present at time of collection ( as confirmed by the autotel scan attached dated 15/5 done on behalf of Alex ) he declined any knowledgeable of this report or that they owned the scanner . Of course the question of who owned the autotel scanner was not even important! Again he was trying to deflect responsibility for their failure to sell a properly prepared and fault free car. A very dishonest and terrible dealership. I have purchase around 20 cars in the last 15 years and this is worst experience I have had.

No, I don’t recommend Compact Car Centre. If only I had seen the other reviews here first. It pains me to do this however, I’m left with no choice. Alex has sold me a vehicle that is faulty & will not uphold his legal obligation to accept the return of the faulty vehicle. I arrived on Wednesday afternoon to collect bmw 1 series 120i. When I arrived the car wasn’t at the dealership as it was “being valeted”. Fair enough, I proceeded to begin filling in paperwork until it arrived. Once the car arrived I went out for a look, not knowing much about cars it looked fine, the outside of the car looks good in honesty. I was happy enough without having driven the vehicle but I trusted it was in a good working order having just been MOT’d & serviced, apparently. I completed paperwork & took the keys to be on my way to the petrol station as they had sold me it with 0 miles in the tank. Poor etiquette in my opinion but it’s not uncommon. When I arrived at the petrol station merely 500metres away I found that the engine management light was on. I sent a picture to whom I had been dealing with via text letting him know the light was on. I filled up to full & thought perhaps the light had come on due to running so low on fuel. It is damaging to a car after all. I took the car back to the dealer & said the light had come on he said he would fix it. He ran a diagnostic & found a few codes then googled their meaning. He essentially cleared the codes & not the problem & told me it must have been a loose wire. As I’m no mechanic & he was at least dressed like one I had assumed that was the truth & could have been plausible. The next time I turned the car on at a motorway service station the engine management light came back on. I am now rejecting the car inside of my 14 day cooling off period with finance & my 30 day warranty set out by the consumer rights act. However. Judge, Jury & executioner Alex or so he thinks he is. Has said No. the fault wasn’t present at time of collection & he can prove that to be the case. I find that strangely bizarre as I can prove it TO be the case with photographs of your employee attempting to fix it. I took these in case you tried to pull a fast one, which you have. Thankfully the finance company are dealing with it. Carmoola if anyone is interested are saving me from taking Alex to court. His idea by the way, knowing it would cost me thousands to do so. Alex you are a bully & a terrible business man I wish you nothing but failure & you deserve it all. I am making it my mission to assure nobody else is forced into a situation like this again & therefore will be using this same review on all review sites & I have contacted trading standards & the FCA regarding your malpractice.
