AVOID Tony Hawke at CSN cars like the plague! We bought a car from him with a brand new MOT, found out there was a shuddering whilst braking within a few days. Took it to a local garage and they said it should never have passed its MOT! Tony panicked after trying to avoid the problem initially and paid for it to be fixed. He knew however that we could have handed the car back for a full refund at that point. Wish we had as a couple of months in the head gasket went. Asked Tony for warranty details and he said it wouldn't cover it. I decided to phone up to find out and there was no warranty, he never purchased one!! As soon as he found out I'd rumbled him he purchased a 3 month warranty instead of the 6 month warranty we purchased. This was a useless warranty on a car that didn't move! Of course then there was no warranty to claim on. I then turned to Tony and asked him to fix it as there wasn't a warranty for us to claim on, he refused! He said that not purchasing a warranty was an ACT OF GOD!! He said his bookkeeper usually deals with it but forgot! I claimed that he went against the legal contract we had signed and he said in his world/car industry there was no such thing! They sit around the table and talk face to face! He wanted us to transport the car to him wgere he would get an independent garage to look at it. Under the consumer rights act it is not supposed to be the responsibility of the buyer to transport the car anywhere. We filed a legal letter to him where he sent one back again asking for the car to be transported to him! At this point we thought that the best thing to do for us was to fix it ourselves. As our trust had gone completely in Tony. He sold us a dangerous car with a dodgy MOT with no warranty, no service like he claimed as there was no stamp. To top it off he never sent the vehicle registration off so we've had to file for one ourselves!! We have reported all this to trading standards. If anyone is reading this thinking about buying a car from Tony Hawke at CSN cars please don't. Save your hard earned money and don't give this con artist another penny. Another reviewer called him Del Boy, I don't because he's far far worse than that!! Don't fall for the false friendliness and the first impressions of bending over backwards for you! Be smarter than us and thoroughly research the dealer your buying from!
