My 17 year old son's first ever dream car soon turned into a nightmare the likes of which even Steven King may get the chills to write off. Right from the off, the car had a flat battery (Ali Usman blamed us) and the bonnet could be opened without using the latch. Usman said the car was fully serviced and didn't need any work despite being three years overdue a timing belt change. Luckily, I found out as my son could have broken down on a smart motorway. Opteven confirmed the car could not be used under the AA warranty sold with it as the warranty was invalid due to the lack of timing belt service. Finally, we found it pooled significant water in the boot, enough to soak the back seats. Usman said it would be £300 to fix the timing belt issue and it is several hours work. Usman said 7-10 days for the severe water ingression parts to arrive. Having returned it, it seemed strange then that the car was listed back on his site the very next morning at 7am...
Usman could not provide any evidence of the parts being ordered to service the car and, backed into a corner, demanded we bring it back. In his office he mentioned we are being filmed (for the first time which was strange as we had discussed sensitive financial information in there a mere two weeks before) and that he wouldn't agree to reund even a single Pound unless we agreed to a £500 restocking fee. This brought out the very best John Cleese in me. We left minus £613 on what we paid (not including the £45 fee to cancel the insurance and £33 car mats and the many hours trying to resolve everything.) I am having to go down the rote of Trading Standards to get my son's money back despite DealDrive Motors having 42 cars in stock at present. My son therefore has no car and is £691 Pounds down...
Please give a very wide berth, please steer clear. As Billy Ocean sang: RED LIGHT Spells Danger. I'd rather only use a bicycle than buy a car again here.
And if you do go here and buy one and it does go awry, whatever you do - don't mention your rights - Usman told me at the end if only I'd grovelled he would have sorted everything. No Deal, hell of a bumpy road and no Motor. No stars if it was an option. (Apparently I am the first customer in ten years he has lost his rag with - which is nice!)
