The sale process was smooth, as you would expect as all car dealers want your money asap. I was told that the car would get a full service before I collect it, and was event offered a stamp in the service book when I did collect it (I declined to preserve the 100% BMW service history). Just seven months later, the engine suffered major mechanical failure despite the full BMW service history, and no missed services. Upon contacting HPL, they change their story, saying that they would never have serviced the car as none was required by BMW service schedule (oh how I wish I'd got them to stamp the service book now!). Therefore someone at HPL lied to me. Despite it being obvious the car was faulty at the time of sale (as no service was missed or required), HPL refused to accept any liability, not even a partial good will payment. Instead they preferred to pay their solicitors to try to scare me off attempts for compensation and pursuing legal action using the sale of goods act. In short, expect nothing from HPL once you have handed over your cash. They do not offer franchise dealership style service, but back street dealer service, and the honesty they purport to...
