I was going to buy a car in March and paid a £200 deposit. I couldn't go through with sales because a bus hit my car that was to be traded in. They wouldn't wait till this was fixed and stated that the sale now couldn't go through. I was told I would receive my deposit back when collecting car or if I decided not to go through with sale. The man I dealt with from second chance cars Wetherby was dismissive. I have never received the deposit back and car sold to someone else. This is not exceptable and should have been returned to myself.

17 hours agoDeposit not returned Put a DEPOSIT of £495 on a car but called within a couple of days to cancel and was told I couldn't get my deposit back! As "it wasn't a deposit it was a document fee" At NO point in the sales conversation was a DOCUMENT FEE mentioned but the word DEPOSIT was what i was told i was paying!! It seems by saying the deposit was a document fee or Admin fee they have a loop hole to keep your deposit money!! Please report to autotrader if this happens to you. Bunch of scammers. Try to distract you so can steal some cash money and then say less to get more money from you. Can’t trust so video record everything. It’s like they don’t want to sell but want to keep deposits therefore ask for deposits and say we can’t give the car as needs work etc to drag and nothing gets done so beware. Car was filthy and had faults but didn’t let me test drive or anything as already paid deposit. Apparently cars perfect no faults etc will need clean prep etc etc but want to check for faults again and again when speak on phone just to take deposit but all lies to drag. 0 stars if possible as scammers. Adrian is the mastermind to this scam so beware if taking cash and his partner was tall skinny big mouth who keeps lying after stealing money. Great team work but hope this does not happen to anyone else.
