Process was ok but the car was not even close to as clean as advertised, Before I start the car is a 2016 golf gtd which I paid top dollar for assuming that because it was a “dealer” it would be a good car. Warning bells should have rung in my head when the finance company I had tried to use refused to deal with this specific dealer. And offered to try to find me the same car elsewhere. Then during the process the details on the sellers website stated the mileage at 85k and the cars last MOT (4 months prior) was already on 91.5k. Not a good start I haven’t even had it 4 months and there is a line of rust All the way along the boot lower where it is rubbing off the rear bumper which to resolve will now need the whole boot lid painted and the rear bumper replaced as it has worn through the paint down to the plastic. Within weeks after buying the car I had to take it to a bodywork shop to have the doors realigned as it was leaking water and whistling. Where I was informed the car has been in a rear end collision. I contacted the seller who was VERY argumentative on the phone. Telling me there was no way this car had been previously repaired. Utter bollocks!! As for mechanical faults Heater matrix blocked solid (part was provided) Drivers window switch not working properly Passenger window switch intermittent Constant codes for the front collision and ACC system Air throttle valve (car broke down) DPF regen Both transmission and engine mounts were grinding Near side track rod end Offside lower ball joint Near side wheel bearing Baffles rattling in exhaust centre section Xenon headlight bulb Extremely worrying coming from a “dealer” considering some of these should have been on the MOT. Had I had the time and effort I would have returned the car. And before it is mentioned, yes you bought warranty but it’s about much use as no use atall. I understand things break and wear out but over the last 4 months this car has cost me twice as much to run (just in repairs) than the 180k 2005 118d it replaced
