25. Fisker Ocean
Price: £36,900 - £57,900
Battery range: 275-440 miles
Launch date: January 2024
The Ocean, an electric SUV by Fisker, shares dimensions similar to the Škoda Enyaq or Volkswagen ID.4, measuring 4,640 in length, 1,930 in width, and 1,615 in height. It utilises a new lightweight platform from Fisker, offering both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
Reservations are currently open, with initial deliveries expected in early 2024. The model line-up includes three variants: the £36,900 Sport with a single motor and a range of 289 miles, the £50,900 Ultra featuring all-wheel drive and a range of 429 miles, and the all-wheel-drive Ultimate extending the range to 440 miles.
Despite utilising a 400-volt electrical system (in contrast to the 800-volt system in the Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and Porsche Taycan), Fisker assures that both battery options - the 106kWh Hyper Range and 80kWh Touring Range - can DC fast charge at speeds up to 250kW. This is comparable to Tesla's speed from a 400-volt system, allowing the Ocean to add approximately 100 miles of range in under eight minutes and achieve an 80% charge in less than 30 minutes.
24. Kia EV5
Price: £43,000 - £55,000 (est)
Battery range: 275-330 miles (est)
Launch date: mid 2024
If the spacious Kia EV9 is too large for your preferences, consider the 2024 Kia EV5, a more compact option that might be just what you're looking for. Measuring 4.6 meters in length, the Kia EV5 is built on the dedicated EV platform called E-GMP, which is shared with models like the EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6.
The standard model, featuring a 64kWh battery pack and a 215bhp motor, is anticipated to offer a driving range of approximately 330 miles on a single charge. For those seeking an extended range, the long-range model comes equipped with an 88kWh battery, providing an expected range of 450 miles per charge.
In the case of the long-range AWD model, two motors generating 308bhp are employed. Kia aims for a driving range of 405 miles with the AWD EV5. Moreover, the EV5 boasts fast-charging capabilities, enabling the battery to be charged from 30 to 80 percent capacity in just 27 minutes.
23. Ford Explorer
Price: £40,000 (est)
Battery range: 218-335 miles
Launch date: Summer 2024
In 2024, Ford is set to expand its electric line-up with the introduction of the Explorer crossover, marking the brand's second electric model. Utilising Volkswagen's MEB platform, underpinning the German brand's ID. models, Ford leverages a technology-sharing agreement established between the two companies two years prior. Notably, the technology integrated into the Explorer remains proprietary to Ford.
Positioned to compete with models like the VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, the Explorer will offer similar battery and motor options as its VW Group counterparts. This includes the choice between 52kWh or 77kWh batteries, providing up to 335 miles of range, and power outputs ranging between 201 and 335bhp. Ford has hinted at further utilisation of the MEB platform, potentially extending to a van and even a sporty car, sparking speculation about the possibility of an electric Capri.
Production for the Explorer is slated for Ford's Cologne plant, which is currently undergoing a significant multi-million-euro refurbishment as the brand shifts its focus towards electric vehicles. However, due to new regulations surrounding battery production, there has been a six-month delay, pushing back the Explorer's release until mid-2024.
Despite the setback, anticipation remains high, with hopes that the Explorer will prove worth the wait.
22. Smart #3
Price: £40,000-£45,000
Battery range: 270-283 miles
Launch date: Q1 2024
Having specialised in crafting compact city cars for over two decades, the Smart brand has recently introduced the #1 and has the upcoming #3 poised for release, marking a notable departure from its traditional offerings.
The #1, already available for purchase, is a five-door family vehicle surpassing the dimensions of a VW ID.3. Meanwhile, the larger #3 is scheduled to hit the UK market in early 2024.
Positioned as a competitor to the VW ID.4 and Tesla Model Y, the #3 boasts a length of 4.4 meters and a width of 1.8 meters. Despite its larger size, it shares both interior and exterior design elements with the more compact #1. The #3 also inherits the #1's 66kWh battery, offering a range of 270 to 283 miles depending on the trim level. Rapid 150kW charging facilitates a 10-80% recharge in under 30 minutes.
The entry-level #3 models feature a single rear-mounted motor, delivering 268bhp and achieving a 0-62mph time of 5.8 seconds. On the other hand, the all-wheel-drive BRABUS editions boast an impressive 422bhp, accelerating to 62mph in just 3.7 seconds.
Smart has already commenced deliveries in its native Germany, with UK models anticipated to arrive in early 2024.
21. BYD Seal U
Price: £40,000 - £46,000 (est)
Battery range: 261-311 miles
Launch date: Early 2024
BYD is experiencing rapid developments in its European venture. Despite the Chinese company's European launch announcement only occurring last autumn, it recently commenced sales in the UK a few months ago. Following the introduction of the Atto 3, BYD is set to unveil four additional all-electric models in quick succession.
The compact Dolphin is already on display in showrooms, and it will soon be accompanied by the Seal saloon, positioned to rival the Tesla Model 3.
By early 2024, the Seal U will join the lineup, entering a competitive segment against models like the VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Ford Explorer, and Nissan Ariya, with estimated prices starting at approximately £40,000.
While the Seal saloon has garnered positive attention as a strong contender, the Seal U presents an appealing package, likely attracting drivers currently using internal combustion cars like the Nissan Qashqai. Nevertheless, pricing will play a crucial role, as the Seal U is considered average in various key aspects.
20. Polestar 3 & 4
Price: £79,900- £85,500
Battery range: 347-379 miles
Launch date: Q2 2024
Polestar is gearing up for an eventful 2024, introducing two new models to complement the recently revamped Polestar 2.
First in line is the Polestar 3, a mid-sized SUV set to hit the market in the first half of 2024. Featuring an all-wheel-drive powertrain and a standard 107kWh battery pack (usable), the Polestar 3 boasts an impressive driving range of up to 379 miles on the WLTP cycle.
Polestar envisions the 3 as a compelling choice, tempting buyers away from luxury combustion-engine SUVs like the Range Rover Sport, BMW X7, and Porsche Cayenne, especially when considering its starting price of £79,000—making it competitive with other models in the £75k+ range.
The brand is poised to launch the Polestar 4 in 2024 for enthusiasts seeking even more Polestar excitement.
Positioned as a "performance SUV coupe," it will fit between the 2 and 3 in terms of size and price. The Polestar 4 is slated to be the brand's fastest production car to date, offering a 534bhp twin-motor option.
With a 94kWh battery, it is expected to deliver up to 372 miles of driving range in less extreme single-motor versions and will support charging speeds of up to 200kW.
19. Citroen e-C3
Price: £21,000
Battery range: 199 miles
Launch date: Q2 2024
Citroen continues to impress with its bold approach, exemplified by innovative vehicles such as the Ami and the Oli concept. Adding to their line-up is the new e-C3, a car expected to hit the market in early 2024 with a price tag of approximately £21,000 and a promising driving range of nearly 200 miles.
Under the bonnet, the e-C3 features a 111bhp electric motor at the front, paired with a 44kWh battery pack. Official figures project an impressive 199 miles of range. While the current offering is attractively priced at £21,000, there's anticipation for larger batteries to be introduced into the lineup, although these will likely come with a higher price tag.
The e-C3 aims to open up the electric vehicle experience to a wider audience, providing an affordable option for those seeking a small family car with decent range, performance, and practicality.
If it delivers a satisfying driving experience, the e-C3 has the potential to be a standout success for Citroen.
18. MINI Cooper and Countryman
Price: £30,000-£34,500
Battery range: 190-250 miles
Launch date: Spring 2024
MINI is gearing up for a substantial expansion in its electric vehicle line up, introducing a series of new models to enhance its commitment to electrification.
The initial addition will be a direct successor to the existing three-door MINI electric, scheduled to debut next year. Initially manufactured in China, production will transition to Mini's Oxford factory in 2026, where the current model is currently produced.
Available in E and SE variants, this new model will offer a significantly improved officially-measured range of 190 or 250 miles, a substantial increase from the outgoing MINI's 145 miles. Priced at £30,000 for the E and £34,500 for the SE, the first units are expected to hit the market in spring 2024.
For those desiring a slightly larger MINI experience, the fully electric Countryman is set to arrive later in 2024. As a five-door crossover SUV, it grows in size with an additional 60mm in height and 130mm in length.
This expansion results in increased interior space, adding nearly 30mm in width for shoulder and elbow room, along with an extra 25mm of space for rear passengers.
Featuring a completely new powertrain, the Countryman comes in two variants – E and SE. The Countryman E, priced at £41,500, is equipped with a 64.7kWh battery providing a range of up to 287 miles. Propelled by a 201bhp motor, it accelerates from 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds.
17. Peugeot e-3008
Price: £40,000+ (est)
Battery range: 326-435 miles
Launch date: February 2024
Peugeot has initiated its foray into the realm of electric vehicles with the e-208 and e-308 hatchback and estate models. From early 2024, families seeking more space will have the new e-3008 as an enticing option.
The e-3008 'fastback' SUV is set to hit the market in February 2024, featuring three battery and motor combinations. A long-range version, boasting 227bhp and a remarkable 435-mile range with a 98kWh battery, is anticipated later in the year. Initial models will be equipped with 207bhp, offering a range of 326 miles.
Peugeot also has plans to introduce a four-wheel-drive variant, providing 316bhp and a range of 326 miles at a later date.
Irrespective of the chosen battery/motor configuration, the e-3008 promises a stylish interior with room for five occupants, incorporating the latest i-Cockpit technology showcased on up to 21 inches of digital screens.
Charging capabilities include up to 160kW DC, complemented by a 22kW AC option and innovative vehicle-to-load connectivity.
While official pricing details are yet to be disclosed, the e-3008 is expected to start around £40,000, aligning it with the Volkswagen ID.4 in the market.
16. Porsche Macan
Price: £65,000+ (est)
Battery range: 310 miles
Launch date: Spring/summer 2024
Porsche, renowned for its high-performance gas-guzzling sports cars, might seem an unlikely advocate for the electric car revolution; however, the German automaker has ambitious plans to electrify its line-up.
The ground-breaking Taycan saloon has already demonstrated Porsche's commitment to leading in the electric vehicle sector. Additionally, the company's decision to replace its best-selling 718 Boxster and Cayman with all-electric versions underscores its willingness to make substantial decisions.
The forthcoming Macan SUV is poised to become Porsche's second fully electric car, though its debut has faced delays as the company refines the software. Despite this setback, the electric Macan is still anticipated to make its debut in early 2024.
While the petrol-powered version will continue to be available after a facelift, the electric variant is an entirely new vehicle designed from the ground up for electric power. Boasting the same rapid-charging capability as the Taycan, it promises warp-speed performance with a two-motor setup delivering up to 603bhp. Supported by a 100kWh battery, the electric Macan is expected to offer a range of at least 310 miles.
15. Renault Scenic & Renault 5
Price: £45,000-£50,000 (est)
Battery range: 261-385 miles
Launch date: Q1 2024
Renault is reintroducing the Scenic name for a new family-friendly model, and this time, it takes the form of an electric SUV designed to compete with the Volkswagen ID.4.
Much like the original Scenic, which was a larger and more practical iteration of the 1990s Megane hatchback, the new Scenic E-Tech is positioned above the Megane E-Tech in Renault's electric vehicle line-up.
Beneath its sharply-styled exterior, the Scenic E-Tech shares the same platform as the smaller Megane E-Tech and Nissan's Ariya. Renault claims that there are two battery options available - 60kWh and 87kWh - providing ranges of up to 261 and 385 miles, respectively. The maximum charging speed is noted as 130kWh for the 60kWh battery and 150kWh for the larger battery.
Given that the Megane E-Tech's prices reach £41,995, it is anticipated that the Scenic E-Tech will commence just below the £45,000 mark, rising to approximately £50,000 when it becomes available for purchase next year.
In 2024, Renault's electric car range will also see the introduction of the all-new Renault 5, positioned at the lower end. Competing with models like the Citroen e-C3 and Fiat Panda, this eagerly awaited five-door supermini is expected to be priced below £25,000. It will offer two battery options, with a maximum range of around 250 miles when it hits the market in the second half of the year.
14. Audi A6 e-tron & Q6 e-tron
Price: From £65,000 (est)
Battery range: 435 miles (est)
Launch date: Summer 2024
In the current automotive landscape dominated by Audi's elevated sports utility vehicles, the company hasn't forsaken its legacy of sleek saloons like the A6. This is evident in the imminent release of the latest generation A6, which will feature an e-tron electric version available in both saloon and estate configurations.
A glimpse into the future occurred a couple of years ago when a thinly disguised prototype emerged as a four-wheel-drive concept car equipped with twin motors generating 469bhp, delivering performance akin to a supercar. Production versions will include twin-motor setups, and there are expectations for more subdued, two-wheel-drive A6 e-tron options.
Rapid charging is a notable feature, utilizing Porsche Taycan-like 800-volt technology. When connected to a suitable rapid charger, the A6 e-tron can acquire approximately 200 miles of range in around ten minutes, reaching up to an 80% charge within fifteen minutes.
Designed for aerodynamic efficiency, the A6 e-tron incorporates paint engineered to reduce drag and deflect solar radiation, contributing to optimal cooling and less strain on the air conditioning system.
While the prototype's advanced headlamp technology, capable of projecting text and videos, remains uncertain for production cars, it could offer a distinctive edge over the Tesla Model S.
Before the sleek saloon and estate models make their debut, Audi enthusiasts will first encounter another SUV in the form of the Q6 e-tron. Positioned between the smaller Q4 e-tron and the larger Q8 e-tron, it shares close ties with the incoming electric Porsche Macan.
Utilising the same platform as the A6 e-tron, it is expected to offer a similar array of motors, power outputs, and ultra-rapid charging capabilities. Anticipated to arrive in early 2024, the Q6 e-tron is projected to be priced in the £60,000-£70,000 range.
13. Fiat Panda
Price: £23,000 (est)
Battery range: 200 miles (est)
Launch date: July 2024
The current Panda is essentially a reinterpretation of a design concept dating back over two decades. Its successor, however, is poised to undergo a significant transformation, particularly as it embraces electric power.
In 2019, Fiat marked its 120th birthday with the Centoventi show car, a homage to the original 1980-launched Panda with its distinctively square design. A more subdued iteration of the Centoventi is anticipated to enter production, adorned with Panda badges, just in time for Fiat's 125th anniversary in July 2024.
Positioned beneath the existing, and progressively pricier, 500e, the upcoming Panda is expected to be larger than its predecessor, adopting a less-is-more minimalist aesthetic that pays homage to the original version in a contemporary manner. A similar budget-friendly approach to the Citroen e-c3 is anticipated.
The extent to which some of the show car's more unconventional features, such as back-hinged rear doors, detachable panel work, and varied 'plug in your own' dashboards, will be retained in the production model remains uncertain, but the Centoventi offers a compelling preview of the car's appearance.
In addition to the new Panda, 2024 is set to witness the introduction of the Fiat Topolino micro-EV, drawing inspiration from the successful Citroen Ami.
12. Volkswagen ID.7
Price: £55,570
Battery range: 388-435 miles
Launch date: January 2024
Following the success of the ID.3 hatchback and ID.4 and 5 SUVs, Volkswagen is venturing into the realm of electric saloons with the highly anticipated ID.7, generating considerable excitement, especially with the upcoming introduction of an estate version.
Scheduled to make its debut in the UK within the next couple of months, the ID.7 is a sizable premium saloon, measuring five meters in length. Positioned as a contender against the Hyundai Ioniq 6, Tesla Model 3, BMW i4, and Polestar 2, it shares a comparable size with the Mercedes EQE but comes with a notably more affordable price tag.
Certain versions of the ID.7 will feature the familiar 77kWh battery found in other ID models, providing a range of over 380 miles. A new addition for the ID.7 is the introduction of an 86kWh unit, offering an impressive official range of 435 miles and supporting 200kW charging, surpassing the smaller battery's 170kW capacity.
Boasting a class-leading 532-litre boot, the saloon is set to be joined by a tourer variant later in 2024, offering a slightly expanded cargo space and a more practical load area that can be extended to over 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded.
Volkswagen has confirmed that the initial models to hit the market in January will be the high-spec Pro Launch Edition, priced at £55,370, with more affordable variants set to join the line-up at a later date.
11. Dacia Spring
Price: £18,000 (est)
Battery range: 140 miles
Launch date: Summer 2024
The Dacia Spring has already been introduced in Europe as the continent's most economical electric car, excluding the Ami quadricycle. Starting from mid-2024, UK consumers can also partake in the affordability of this electric vehicle, with an expected price range of approximately £18,000.
This compact Spring is a mini-SUV, closely resembling the size of a VW Up, primarily designed for navigating urban environments, although it can handle higher-speed roads with some patience.
In alignment with Dacia's budget-oriented approach, the Spring features a relatively modest 27kWh battery and a choice between 45 or 65bhp motors. Due to its lightweight and lower power, the battery is anticipated to provide up to 140 miles of range.
However, charging is capped at 30kW, resulting in a lengthier time for a complete recharge. The Spring's specifications prioritise practicality over high-tech features or advanced safety equipment, with Dacia emphasising that drivers shouldn't have to pay for unnecessary features.
10. Alpine A290
Price: £30,000-£35,000 (est)
Battery range: 210-230 miles (est)
Launch date: Q4 2024
In 2024, the Alpine A290 is anticipated to make its debut alongside its more mainstream counterpart, the Renault 5, serving as a sportier sibling.
Sharing the same platform as the Renault 5, the A290 distinguishes itself with a chassis specifically tuned for a more spirited driving experience. Boasting bespoke suspension, power delivery, and braking, Alpine aims to deliver a genuine electric hot hatch with the A290.
While precise technical details remain somewhat limited, it is known that the twin front motors and race-spec carbon chassis from the concept car won't be part of the production model. Instead, the A290 will feature a single front-mounted motor, available in 215bhp and 270bhp configurations.
The battery size is yet to be officially confirmed, but indications suggest that the A290 will likely utilise the same 52kWh pack expected in the Renault 5. Given the Renault Zoe's performance with a similar 52kWh battery, offering up to 238 miles, a comparable official range can be anticipated from the Alpine model.
With the promise of a 270bhp pocket-sized hatch from the creators of the A110, enthusiasm is certainly in order.
9. Lotus Emeya
Price: £90,000+ (est)
Battery range: 315 miles+ (est)
Launch date: Q3 2024
Following Lotus's inaugural SUV, the Eletre, comes the brand's premier hyper-GT. Scheduled for production in 2024, this four-door, four-seater model marks Lotus's third venture into the electric vehicle domain, following the Eletre and Evija hypercar.
Crafted to compete with the Porsche Taycan, the most potent versions of the hyper-GT are set to deliver a formidable 893bhp, propelling from 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds. Lotus affirms its commitment to providing the iconic driving experience associated with the brand, incorporating adaptive air suspension and active aerodynamics. The interior, adorned with the latest sustainable materials, is designed to exude both luxury and cutting-edge technology.
Anticipated to feature a 102kWh battery pack, the Emeya by Lotus boasts 350kW charging capability, allowing a rapid 10-80% recharge in a mere 18 minutes. While official range figures are yet to be disclosed, Lotus asserts that the Emeya can traverse the distance from Newcastle to London or Amsterdam to Paris on a single charge, hinting at a range of at least 315 miles.
8. MG Cyberster
Price: £50,000 to £60,000 (est)
Battery range: 300 miles+ (est)
Launch date: Summer 2024
Staying within the realm of performance-oriented electric vehicles, the eye-catching MG Cyberster is slated to make its debut in mid-2024.
Departing from a line-up dominated by SUVs and hatchbacks, MG has ventured into the performance arena with the MG4 X Power and is revisiting its heritage with this striking two-door, convertible sports car. Although larger than traditional MG models, roughly comparable to the size of a BMW Z4, the Cyberster boasts performance credentials, with the base model offering over 300bhp.
While awaiting comprehensive technical specifications, MG has said that the Cyberster will be available in a single-motor variant delivering 309bhp and a twin-motor, all-wheel-drive version boasting 536bhp. The anticipated battery size is likely to mirror the existing 77kWh configuration, providing an estimated range of around 300 miles.
With a projected price range of £50,000 to £60,000, the Cyberster emerges as a compelling option, especially when juxtaposed with the pricing landscape of £50,000+ family SUVs.
7. Cupra Tavascan
Price: £55,000 (est)
Battery range: 321-341 miles
Launch date: Q3 2024
The Tavascan marks Cupra's second foray into the realm of all-electric vehicles, following the introduction of the mildly warm Born hatchback, and is poised to elevate the heat for the Spanish brand.
Built upon the same MEB foundation shared with models ranging from the Born to the VW ID.5, the Tavascan stands as a sizable coupe-SUV, ready to rival the Ford Mustang Mach-e, Nissan Ariya, Tesla Model Y, and Audi Q4 e-tron in the upper echelons of the market.
Distinguished by its sharp and sleek aesthetics, the Tavascan is sure to command attention in its competitive segment. Beneath the surface, dynamic chassis control and sports suspension have been employed to fulfill Cupra's ambitions for a sporty driving experience.
Upon its release in the second half of 2024, two versions of the Tavascan will be offered—a rear-wheel-drive variant with 282bhp and a four-wheel-drive VZ model boasting 335bhp, achieving a 0-62mph time of 5.6 seconds.
Both versions will be equipped with a 77kWh battery pack, delivering a range between 321 and 341 miles, complemented by 135kW charging capability.
6. Volvo EX90
Price: From £96,255
Battery range: 363 miles
Launch date: Q3 2024
The arrival of the Volvo EX90 is still pending. Originally scheduled for the end of 2023, the substantial seven-seat electric car has encountered a delay of six months due to the necessity for additional software development. Consequently, it is now expected to hit the roads around the middle of 2024.
Upon its eventual release, the EX90 will claim the title of the most expensive and technologically advanced Volvo to date. Boasting radar, cameras, and LiDAR sensors to enhance advanced driver assistance systems, along with built-in 5G connectivity, it serves as an electric successor to the XC90, offering seven seats and a wealth of premium features befitting its £100,000 price tag.
Equipped with a 107kWh battery, all versions of the EX90 are configured for four-wheel drive. The Standard Twin Motor variants generate 402bhp, providing a range of 363 miles.
On the other hand, the Twin Motor Performance specification increases power to 510bhp while slightly reducing the range to 360 miles. Both iterations support 250kW charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
5. SsangYong Torres EVX
Price: From £40,000 (est)
Battery range: 250-300 miles (est)
Launch date: March/April 2024
SsangYong, the budget Korean brand, is set to make its second venture into the electric car market with the release of the visually striking Torres EVX in early 2024.
In contrast to the underwhelming performance of the Korando e-Motion, the Torres presents a more compelling prospect, having been specifically designed as an electric model from the ground up. Already available for purchase in Korea, the UK is poised to become the second market for this rugged family SUV in early 2024.
Under the bonnet, the Torres is propelled by a 201bhp motor powering the front wheels, accompanied by a 77kWh battery that delivers an estimated range between 260 and 300 miles.
In terms of size, the Torres competes with a range of models, including the VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Tesla Model Y, and Toyota bZ4X. However, this value-centric model is anticipated to come with a lower price tag than its counterparts.
Considering the existing Korando e-Motion is priced at approximately £35,000, it's reasonable to expect the Torres to be priced around £40,000.
4. Chery Omoda 5
Price: £38,000 (est)
Battery range: 217-274 miles
Launch date: March 2024
Chery, a prominent brand in various parts of the world, aspires to carve out a presence in the European market.
Their inaugural endeavor is the Omoda 5, a family SUV positioned to compete with the Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro, and Nissan Qashqai.
Similar to Kia and Hyundai, the Omoda 5 is available in combustion engine versions, but it also offers an electric variant that pledges comparable performance, range, space, and equipment.
The base models feature a 134bhp motor paired with a 48kWh battery, providing a range of 217 miles. For a higher price point, there's an option with a 201bhp motor and a 64kWh battery, extending the range to 274 miles.
DC charging is capped at 110kW, but Chery asserts that this is sufficient to achieve a 0-80% charge in 30 minutes.
While the Omoda aims to match established models in key aspects, it must deliver exceptional value to sway buyers from opting for competitors like Kia and Hyundai.
3. Maserati Granturismo Folgore & Grecale Folgore
Price: £190,000 (est)
Battery range: 280 miles
Launch date: Q1 2024
Once renowned for its roaring V6 engines, Maserati is now fully embracing electrification with plans to launch battery-powered versions of two of its models, both slated for release in 2024.
Our test drive of the Grantourismo Folgore left us awe-struck, impressed by its rapid acceleration, razor-sharp handling, and its embodiment of a true Italian grand tourer. Propelled by three motors (one at the front, two at the rear), the Folgore delivers 751bhp or a breath taking 819bhp during brief over boost moments, catapulting the car from 0 to 62mph in a mere 2.7 seconds. Fuelled by a substantial 83kWh battery, it boasts a range of 292 miles, and with 270kW rapid charging, you'll be back on the road swiftly.
While a £200k sports car may not be at the top of everyone's shopping list, witnessing established brands like Maserati wholeheartedly embrace electric technology is undeniably exciting.
Another electric offering set to hit the roads in 2024 is the electric version of Maserati's latest SUV, the opulent Grecale. Featuring 557bhp and achieving a 0-62mph time of approximately 4 seconds, the Folgore stands out as the most powerful and quickest iteration of the Grecale. Its robust 105kWh battery is expected to provide an impressive range between 300 and 350 miles.

Price: £57,445
Battery range: 259 - 266 miles
Launch date: March 2024
Scheduled for deliveries beginning this March, the iX2 is set to join BMW's lineup as a more streamlined and sportier companion to the iX1 SUV.
Taking design cues from the larger X4 and X6 models, BMW categorises it as a 'Sports Activity Coupe,' sharing its aesthetics with the ICE X2 and its powertrain with the slightly smaller iX1. For those who enjoy being in the spotlight, there's a luminous kidney grille, and the interior boasts the same cutting-edge, high-quality features that have impressed in the iX1.
Diverging from the iX1's eDrive 20 two-wheel-drive model, the iX2 is propelled by two motors generating a combined 308bhp, resulting in a brisk 0-62mph acceleration in 5.6 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 112mph.
Equipped with a 64.8kWh battery, it achieves a range of up to 266 miles, and thanks to DC charging at 130kW, a 10-80% charge is accomplished in just 29 minutes.

Although currently in the concept stage, Kia has officially announced that the production model of the EV3 will hit showrooms next year. Intended to succeed the enduring yet aging Soul in the brand's lineup, the EV3 draws inspiration from the design elements of the range-topping EV9.
While the external design is anticipated to undergo minimal changes from the concept, the interior is likely to adopt a more conventional approach compared to the concept's button-free dashboard and rear-hinged back doors.
Details regarding the EV3's hardware remain undisclosed by Kia. However, it is anticipated to be constructed on the brand's innovative E-GMP platform, featuring 800-volt ultra-fast charging capabilities. Prospective buyers can expect choices between two battery sizes and two- or all-wheel drive configurations.
