The Toyota iQ city car will be exempt from the central London congestion charge from the 4th January 2011.
The Toyota iQ was awarded Green Car of the year 2010, running costs are so low the manual Toyota iQ is in the free road tax band, and economy is excellent with the 1.0 engine returning an impressive 65mpg. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has announced that a new Greener Vehicle Discount will be created as part of the revised scheme, providing a 100 per cent discount to cars that emit 100g/km of CO2 or less and meet the Euro 5 standard for air quality. With its Toyota Optimal Drive Euro 5 engine emitting just 99g/km of CO2, the Toyota iQ 1.0-litre manual 2011 will qualify for the new discount.
The 2011 Toyota iQ is now on sale priced from £10,158 on the road. The distinctive exterior stays the same but there have been some changes to the interior cabin. Soft touch materials have been introduced and as an option, customers can select Kuru black leather upholstery on models with a new grey interior. A scarlet surround has been added to the centre console of the Toyota iQ toning with contrasting red stitching on the black leather steering wheel.
