Toyota has brought the GR Yaris back to the UK, this time in a more extreme form - and exclusively with a manual gearbox. The eight-speed automatic option has been dropped after most buyers chose the manual version when the car was last on sale.
Order books for the GR Yaris were previously closed due to “exceptional demand,” but they’ve reopened with the arrival of the new Aero Performance model. Toyota says this version will be produced in strictly limited numbers.
Starting at £48,995 - about £2,950 more than the standard GR Yaris - the Aero Performance model features a more aggressive aerodynamic package. It includes new vents, ducts, and spoilers designed to enhance airflow and downforce.
At the front, there’s a redesigned chin spoiler developed by Toyota’s motorsport partner, Rookie Racing, which helps reduce lift. The bonnet now features a larger vent to improve engine cooling, and a flat underbody smooths airflow beneath the car.
At the rear, an adjustable roof-mounted spoiler increases stability, while new vents in the front wings and rear bumper improve brake cooling and reduce turbulence.
Inside, the car also gets a rally-inspired vertical handbrake lever - a nod to its competition roots.
The Toyota GR Yaris Aero Performance is available to order now through Toyota’s GR Centres, with deliveries starting in March.
