The Omoda 7 lands in the UK in 2026 with petrol and PHEV options, bold styling and prices from under £30k.

Omoda 7 arrives to take on the Kia Sportage

Omoda’s next UK model, the Omoda 7, will land in January 2026 as the brand’s third car to go on sale here. Aimed directly at big sellers like the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, it will offer petrol and plug-in hybrid options and is set to start at under £30,000, giving it a strong price advantage.

What is the Omoda 7?

Omoda only launched in the UK in August 2024, but the brand has grown quickly thanks to the Omoda 5 and the flagship Omoda 9. Sales in 2025 have already overtaken Lexus and are on track to beat Citroën too.

Although China has recently revealed the smaller Omoda 4 – and an Omoda 2 is coming – the Omoda 7 will be the next model offered to British buyers. At 4.6 metres long, it’s slightly bigger than the Sportage and Tucson, putting it closer in size to the MG HS.

It also introduces a fresh design direction for the brand, with a new front end and sharp, lightning-style LED lights. Inside, there’s a large 15.6-inch touchscreen and a redesigned steering wheel.

Engines and hybrid tech

Like the Jaecoo 7, the Omoda 7 will be offered with two powertrains: a petrol engine and a plug-in hybrid, which Omoda calls its “super hybrid system”.

  • 1.6-litre turbo petrol (145bhp) with a seven-speed automatic gearbox
  • 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid (201bhp) using an 18.3kWh battery

The PHEV can travel up to 56 miles on electric power, which beats the Ford Kuga and Kia Sportage PHEVs, though the Volkswagen Tiguan still offers more at 77 miles.

Price and specs

Value is a big part of the Omoda 7’s pitch. Prices start at £29,915, with the hybrid set at around £32,000.

Two trims will be available:

Knight – includes 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charging. Noble – adds a 12-speaker Sony audio system, heated and ventilated electric front seats, a panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.

Orders open in January 2026, with first deliveries following soon after.
