The Dacia Sandero has taken back its crown as Europe’s best-selling car from the Tesla Model Y, with a total of 309,392 sold in 2024. That’s a solid 14.5% increase compared to 2023!
Not only that, but the Sandero continues to dominate private sales in Europe—a title it’s held since 2017. Dacia also remains the top-selling brand for retail customers across the continent.
In 2024, Dacia sold an impressive 676,340 cars in total, up nearly 3% from the previous year, representing about 4% of all passenger car sales in Europe. Since 2004, the brand has sold more than nine million cars.
Breaking it down further:
- Duster: 215,024 sold in 2024, a 12.3% rise, thanks to the mix of second- and third-gen models.
- Jogger: 96,440 sold, a modest but steady 2.4% increase.
However, it wasn’t all wins. The Dacia Spring, their only fully electric car, saw sales drop by a massive 63% in 2024. The brand attributes this to reduced government EV incentives. Still, there was a sales bump when the updated facelifted model hit the market.
In the UK, Dacia had a strong year with a 10% sales boost, largely driven by the hybrid versions of the Duster and Jogger.
Looking ahead, Dacia plans to expand its hybrid lineup, with rumours suggesting the best-selling Sandero could soon feature the same hybrid system as the Jogger and Duster, thanks to their shared platform.
