M & M Lyons Car Sales

Arrived to look at a VW Golf TDI today, upon arrival the car was not entirely as described. The left front fender was rusty, the paint was bubbling and it was crumbing through (this was not on any of the photos), the lock on the boot was rusty and the wiper blade was falling off on the rear window. The vehicle was SORN with 2 months MOT and they were not willing to put it through another, this should have been a red flag immediately. Aside from this I was willing to deal with the bodywork repairs. Upon starting the engine, the car screeched which sounded like a mechanical problem. I questioned the salesman and he advised me that the starter motor was either sticking or that it was due to the car being sat for a long time. He advised that if it was faulty I'd have to replace it as it had always made that noise, this was BEFORE I had even purchased the car. I asked if I was to take the car would he clean the mouldy cup holder (this must have been missed as the rest was impeccably clean,) he advised me that due to my questions regarding the quality of the car if I was wasting his time that I may as well leave. His attitude was vile. He advised he'd put £1k into the car already and that he wasn't willing to do anymore. I put down a £100 deposit to view the car, I was never advised this wasn't refundable whilst messaging and it wasn't on the original eBay listing. I asked him if he'd buy a car with something that he would have to repair straight away and he couldn't comment... Please take all of the negative reviews seriously, the car was in a far worse state than advertised and the salesman kept telling me not to waste his time when I was questioning the rust, mouldy cup holders and the faulty starter motor.

Complete waste of time! Agreed a price for a car prior to visiting dealer, asked if we could be there promptly same day, advised them we where travelling an hour and a half , and rang prior to leaving, viewed the car upon arrival then when we offered the agreed cost they refused saying that they now wanted another £1000 above formerly agreed cost! Young lad is totally clueless when we asked why you let us drive that distance then relented on price had no plausible explanation! Would not recommend them waste of my time and money spent on fuel

Absolute shysters! Total conmen!! Beware!!! Sold me a total turkey of a car, I asked for my old car back and the cash but they lied and said that they didn’t have it anymore so refunded the total value. Here’s the picture of my car that apparently he doesn’t have anymore up for sale under their name!!!! BTW he pulled my car apart and gave me peanuts for it £1250 and now he’s trying to flog it for £2995, not worth anywhere near that but worth much more to me as I know the full history and it’s better than no car at all. I am now housebound with a disabled daughter (autistic) so unable to get out to see any other cars. I have told him this but he is ignoring me. Totally despicable, lying heartless scumbags. Now in the hands of Trading Standards
