The Kia Picanto has been revealed as the cheapest new car to buy in the UK with a starting price of £11,810.
But as the country feels the pinch of the cost of living crises, even the entry level model of Kia's city car - which has a 1.0-litre engine and manual gearbox - is £4,000 more than last year's cheapest car.
Last year, the Dacia Sandero could be driven straight out of the showroom for just £8,995, but the updated version starts at £12,225 - an increase of more than £3,000.
Other models under £15,000 include the 1.2 litre Citroen C3, the Dacia Sandero Stepway SUV, and the five-speed manual MG MG3, which are all available from £12,225, while you can get the keys to a brand-new Hyundai i10 at £13,430, and the much-loved Fiat Panda starts at £13,655.
