The Outlander still follows the same original recipe, of a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine mated with an electric battery. In the current model that battery is good for around 28 miles of electric only miles and when it is driven correctly with the fuel-burning engine, the Outlander can return up to a claimed 139 mpg all while emitting just 49 g/km of CO2. These are figures which are simply unheard of in the SUV market.
