We haven’t heard much about the Polestar 5 recently, but some detailed specs have apparently leaked ahead of its launch later this month. On top of that, it looks like there will be two Launch Editions.
Rumour has it that the Polestar 5 Long Range Dual-Motor Launch Edition will start under £90,000 ($120,995) in the UK. It’s said to come loaded with adaptive pixel LED headlights, frameless windows, rain-sensing wipers, digital side mirrors, soft-close doors, and 20-inch wheels.
Inside, you’re looking at a 9-inch digital instrument cluster, a massive 14.5-inch infotainment screen, and a 9.3-inch heads-up display. Comfort won’t be lacking either with heated front seats in bio-based MicroTech upholstery, four-zone climate control, a 15W wireless phone charger, aluminium or black ash wood trim, and a 12.9 cubic foot (365-litre) boot.
If that’s not fancy enough, optional upgrades could include Nappa leather, a microsuede headliner, and a Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system.
The standard Long Range Launch Edition reportedly packs a 112 kWh battery powering a dual-motor AWD system with 738 hp (550 kW / 748 PS) and 599 lb-ft (812 Nm) of torque. That could get you from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Charging is quick too, with 350 kW DC fast charging and a WLTP combined range of 416 miles (669 km).
Want more punch? The Performance Launch Edition, rumoured to cost around £104,835 ($140,938), could crank the power up to 872 hp (650 kW / 884 PS) and 749 lb-ft (1,015 Nm) of torque well above Polestar’s original 664 lb-ft estimate. That extra firepower might cut the 0 to 62 mph sprint to 3.2 seconds, though the range could drop to 351 miles (565 km).
The Performance version isn’t just faster. It’s sharper too with a sport-tuned suspension, semi-active dampers, 21-inch wheels, plus the microsuede headliner and premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system.
So keep your eyes peeled! The Polestar 5, Polestar’s high-performance GT, is making its public debut at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich on 9 September at 11:00 CET.
