Queen Elizabeth II's Range Rover up for sale, featuring distinctive royal modifications

One of Queen Elizabeth II's extensively featured royal vehicles is now available for purchase. The Loire blue Range Rover, boasting an ivory leather interior, is seeking a new owner after being part of the royal fleet in 2016 and 2017.

This vehicle, which has been captured in numerous photographs during significant royal events, including a state visit by former US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama in April 2016, is now on the market. During that visit, the late monarch and Prince Philip, along with the Obamas, were chauffeured in this distinguished car to Windsor Castle for a private lunch.

Remarkably, the car retains its original registration number from Queen Elizabeth II's use, a rarity in the context of royal vehicles, according to car salesman Jack Morgan-Jones of Bramley Motor Cars, the dealership handling the sale. He noted, "Normally, they endeavour to change the registration number when a car has been in royal service, but in this case, the reg will stay the same, so there is no doubt in anyone's mind that this was the car used by the Queen."

Notably, the car, custom-made for royal use, comes equipped with covert lighting, specially adapted fixed steps, police emergency lighting, and modifications requested by Queen Elizabeth II for enhanced accessibility. Additional grab handles in the rear, ordered by the Queen, were designed to facilitate easier entry and exit.

Morgan-Jones shared insights into the car's history, mentioning it had been sold twice before: first to a collector and then to a local enthusiast fascinated by its historical significance. The current owner now feels it's time for someone else to enjoy this unique piece of royal history. The listing price for this exclusive vehicle is £224,850, reflecting its historical value and the fact that it's the first time it's being sold after the Queen's passing.

"Some people think it's going to be the same price as the standard Range Rover," Morgan-Jones explained, "Obviously this is not the case. Anyone can go and buy a new Ferrari, but not everyone can go and buy the Queen's car."
