Stumbled across this place by chance actually!, was looking for a cheap low milage car for under £1500, it was raining on the day and was welcomed into the reception area and offered a Hot chocolate!!! i was shown a selection of 6 cars that fit my needs, i liked the look of two, a ford fiesta 1.2 in black and a Fiat Punto 1.0L i took the fiat out for a test drive, where i was allowed to drive, well how i normally drive, and go wherever i wanted. i agreed a deal with 6 months of tax included at no extra cost to me! and i was able to drive back out of the gates! straight back to my place in peterborough! didnt even have to fill up with fuel, would recommend to anyone that happened to be passing, to take a look in if they were after a low cost motor!

I wish i had done my homework before i went to Derby Car Centre. I have found out, too late now i may add, that they are "Rip-off" = TRUE. "SELL NOT ROAD WORTHY CARS" = TRUE. "GET NASTY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM" = TRUE. "REFUSE TO EXCEPT THERE IS A PROBLEM, & NOT REFUND YOU" = TRUE. "DONT CARE HOW THEY TREAT YOU" = TRUE. Plus i have found out that Trading Standards are trying to get them to cease trading as they have had so many complaints, but they just keep moving sites & slightly changing their logo (name) BUT not their website. I have only driven my car for 10 mins before it broke down on the busy motorway, two men came picked it up, said get it sorted. 4 wks on yes 4 wks, still not fixed. Found out they took it to another garage that i know, and they told me that the car is not road worthy, that if i wanted the car 100% it would cost more than the car is worth, also told me that they dont like to deal with Derby Car Centre as they are nasty people, have problems with them and that they dont pay up, so refuse really to do any work for them, the only reason they looked at my car was cause they knew it was me that bought it from Derby & didnt want me to be ripped off. I have now requested that i wish not to have the car, and for a full refund, BUT as you guest, manager Mark @ Derby car centre will not except this, i assure you he will end up in court, i will go all the way, and i will help trading standards too....Watchdog have also been informed. So Please do not use these cowboys, once you have given them your monies they are not interested in how the are with you at all.

They are listed as Car Dealership, but should appear as scrapyard. That is the short of "quality cars" they sell. Last August 2012 I bought the car, I was looking for a decent car that was good enough to last 2 years and which was the only requirement I had to buy a car. I was assured that the car was in perfect condition, but 3 days after buying the car I found the head gasket was gone!!! This is not what I was expecting to be a car in perfect condition that will last two years. Of course the problem wasn't fixed, I did not get the car repaired, either the money back. After several negotiations with the owner, he offered to buy me back the car for half the price I paid only if I bought another car from his dealership. Are you kidding??? I had enough of this people with this car as to buy another scrap car from them. Since then, the car is parked and totally useless. It is not worth it all to make any business with this people. Honestly, if you are looking for a car, avoid by all means this dealership. I really feel scammed by this people and totally helpless as I can do nothing with the car. The worst experience ever. Scam and bullshit is all what you will find here. Honestly, if you are looking for a car, avoid by all means this dealership.

I have recently purchased from derby car centre and i am more than happy with the deal i received and the friendly service that everyone i met gave me, i am now a couple months on from when i purchased and my motor is still running as perfect as when i first bought it, reading other reviews made me uncertain about buying here, but lets just say those reviews are not up to date, because i would and have recommended derby car centre to many people, i also know other family members have bought from the dealership and are just as happy as i am! Thank you derby car centre

BIGGEST MISTAKE I ever made buying from Derby Car Centre! The story I could tell you but you'd think I was making it up. Safe to say, the car they sold me had many problems, some minor, some major. Despite asking for my money back on several occasions within the "28 day warranty" period, I got excuses and promises that we will do this and do that. They had the car on three different occasions and at one point when I got it back after 10 days they had done 1500miles in it!!! At what point did they get time to fix the problems!? I could go on about health and safety, warning lights, breakdown issues but suffice to say they are a bunch of cowboys who show customers (who have genuine concerns) nothing but complete and utter contempt. I gave up in the end after trying to get my money back legally as they know all the legal loopholes to get out of returning your hard earned cash. I ended up trading the car in within 10months of buying it at a loss of £2000 (including expended repair costs) but I was glad to be rid of it. I'll tell anyone who will listen that you should never buy a car from Derby Car Centre. Hate is not a strong enough word after what they put me through. I would have set fire to the car in front of their gates if it would have done any good, certainly at times I gave it serious consideration...

Rip offs!!!! They take your hard earned mony and give you a car that's worth a fraction of what you pay!!! My wheel nearly came off whilst I was driving a vehicle I had brought from here just the day after I collected the car!! Sales men that work here are paid on commission So will sell you anything even if it puts a life at risk if I hadn't noticed two of my wheel nuts had come out and the other two were loose I could have crashed and caused myself or someone else a serious injury! Do not buy from here!!

BUNCH OF THIEVES!! Since having a new addition to the family my partner and I decided to get a bigger car. So I travel down to Derby as I saw a nice scenic online. It wasn't cosmetically in a fantastic condition but as long as it was mechanically sound I didn't mind and was told that it can be valeted. I put down a deposit and they gave me 12 months warranty too. (Had to remind the sales dealer to write down on receipt as promised). The manager even said if I wasn't happy with it I can return it to them in 7days and get a refund. They said once the car had been sorted I can come and collect in a few days. Because I was travelling back down south to see family they said they would deliver the car to me if the car wasn't ready on time. When I did get a call it was on the day I was leaving so they said they'll have it down to me by the weekend. Well, that weekend came and went and still no word from them. Chase up time...I kept on being fobbed off for nearly a week after until eventually 2 men turn up at the house and asked if I'd like to take a test drive. Even though it was an inconvenient (because of family and relatives being over for a bbq as well as seeing our new baby) I thought the guys have travelled a fair distance and I can't just tell them to come back another time. SO I took it for a drive and it drove good. I spoke to the same salesman who I saw before and paid the rest of the cash. The NEXT DAY HOWEVER my Dad noticed that the car was leaking and saw a small crack on the windscreen and thought it was best to contact them to report it. They basically washed their hand of it and said it's too far to get a mechanic out. I reminded them about the warranty being signed and then they said to try and bring it back to get it fixed. So 2 days after we set out to drive up there. My dad driving the car, my sister in her car and i'm in my old car. We hadn't gone barely 5 miles up the road when my Dad called on his mobile to say he had BROKE DOWN ON A BUSY ROUNDABOUT! We were shocked!! I just kept on thinking if I'd had been in that car with the baby!! So we had to turn back and drive back to the house leaving the car parked up on the side until my Dad came back with his van to try and start it up again. Once we got the car back on the driveway, my Dad called them to have a stern word and said about a refund to which the salesman replied he only sells the cars and cannot offer a refund. He said we would get the manager to give us a call...Of course he never did for the rest of that day! I phoned back the following day and he point blankly REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! Stating it was a sound car and passed it's MOT etc (anyone can give out those bits of paper!)...Since it was still under warranty he said he will fix the problem when returned. So with the car topped up to the brim with liquid, we all made the journey again up there and met the manager to sort things out. We listed the problems and once I asked for my money back HE REFUSED AGAIN and still stuck to it being fine. We left the car for repairs and they said it would take a week or so to sort out....4 WEEKS LATER I get a call to say to collect. We took the car and on inspection there was a VERY LARGE CRACK ON THE WINDSCREEN & STILL WASN'T PROPERLY VALETED! But my Dad said not to bother as it took long enough to get it back. They gave us another fob key as we were only given one and the salesman added a smarmy comment of 'I hope we don't see you again too soon!' (Rude!) When we returned to the house we used the spare fob to lock the car only to realise it was a fob TO A DIFFERENT RENAULT CAR!!!! ABSOLUTE COWBOYS!! STAY WELL AWAY!!!

My family have purchased a number of cars from this dealer. We have always found their cars to be of very good quality, priced extremly keenly and they have always offered very fair Part Exchange prices. We have hardly ever experienced a problem with any of the cars we have bought from them but when on the odd occassion we did the service they offered in sorting the problem was second to none. AN EXCELLENT CAR BUYER EXPERIENCE - WOULD NOT BUY A CAR FROM ANYWHERE ELSE.
