Avoid This Company at All Costs – Absolute Nightmare Experience
If I could give zero stars, I would. Buying a car from this company has been one of the most frustrating and expensive mistakes I've ever made.
After paying for the warranty, it took over a month for them to even set it up – which already set off alarm bells. But things only got worse from there. We bought the car and within a week it was going into limp mode. Took it to a garage, only to find out that a pipe to the turbo wasn’t even connected. That cost £120 just to diagnose, never mind the actual repairs.
Turns out the car also had cracked inlet manifolds – something that is definitely not caused by wear and tear from us, but of course they tried to claim it was and the warranty wouldn’t cover it. We’ve now had to spend over £2300 on repairs for issues that were clearly present when the car was sold to us.
To top it off, every time we’ve tried to contact them, we’ve been brushed off with empty promises of a call back that never comes. They clearly have no interest in after-sales care – as soon as that car is off their forecourt, you’re on your own.
Save yourself the stress, the money, and the endless phone calls to nowhere – do not buy from this company. They do not stand by their vehicles, and they do not care about their customers

Misleading and unprofessional
Purchased a vehicle with David-Paid a deposit and drove 3 hours to view a car that turned out to be in terrible condition. I ended up buying a more expensive vehicle instead, as it was the only one available. Clutch issues appeared almost immediately, and I later discovered the car had only partial service history—despite being told it had full history.
When I attempted to claim under warranty, only part of the labour was covered due to AI tools used to calculate repair time. The dealer has ignored all follow-up messages and communication. Completely untrustworthy—avoid at all costs. I'm currently in the process of reporting them to the Ombudsman

Further to my negative review below, I have since been in touch with David at Top Car and we have now resolved our misunderstanding. I have now received a full refund for the amount I was promised. David is a very good communicator and I was pleased when he intervened and resolved the issue about which I made the original complaint.

BEWARE! Bought a Land Rover Discovery Sport from Top Car which broke down after one week and required a breakdown service. Top Car repaired it, but the car broke down again a few weeks later on the M1 at rush hour, with smoke billowing out from the engine and inside the car. Very scary. The so-called 'Platinum' warranty that came with the vehicle was worthless as the warranty company said the fault with the car (a blown injector) was not covered. The garage that carried out the repair said that it had had previous significant work done on the engine and that incorrect replacement parts had been used, which may have led to the injector exploding. Cost me £875.00 to put it right. Top Car said they'd contribute £600.00 towards the repair but never did. AVOID this garage.

As a first time customer everything went as expected. The car lived up to my expectations when I viewed it in person, which was great. Abraham made me aware of everything I needed to know about the history of the Discovery, so no complaints there. When I came back to collect the car it was nice to see it had been cleaned inside and out.

I would discourage any customer from purchasing a vehicle from this Dealer. Their vehicles are unsafe, hidden faults that don't get rectified, advertising vehicles with false information - ie. stating a vehicle has 1 previous owner when in fact the V5C states three previous owners. They are rude, un-professional and scam innocent members of the public who put their trust in them. Anybody who is considering buying a car from Top Cars Rugby need to complete their own checks as anything Top Cars Rugby tell you is not the truth. I have referred them to Action Fraud, Trading Standards and HM Courts and Tribunals Service as they have failed to pay our £9000 refund. They scam people and should not be operating a business. I am happy to put my name to this review as all the information I have written is 100% factual.

As a family with two children, we are very pleased with the car we purchased from here three months ago. Staff was very friendly and patient while testing the car and documents.
