Jaguar's new models which you won't want to miss
The top gems you’ll find in your local Jag showroom in 2021
6. Jaguar F-Pace
Starting with the largest model on the forecourt, Jaguar’s F-Pace was its first-ever SUV when it was launched back in 2016 and it carries a lot of the pedigree on offer from Jaguar's partner brand Land Rover. Slimmer LED headlights and tail lights, a larger front grille and redesigned bumpers make up the majority of exterior tweaks, whereas the main upgrades have been made inside the cabin. Jaguar has done away with all the scratchy plastics, replacing them with soft touch, premium materials and there is now an 11.4 inch touchscreen taking centre stage in the centre console. The new p400e plug-in hybrid is the star of the show, with its combined 398bhp it will hurtle from 0-60mph in just 5 seconds while also returning a more than manageable efficiency and up to 33 miles of electric-only driving. Deliveries of the 2021 models have already started and prices begin at £40,860, making it one of the most affordable premium SUVs in this segment of the market.
5. Jaguar E-Pace
If the F-Pace is slightly too big for what you’re after, the new E-Pace may be the car you’re looking for. This is a more compact package when compared to the F-Pace but it still packs the same level of comfort and luxury. The 2021 model hasn’t changed dramatically compared to the 2020 model, but the tweaks are significant. The headlights are slimmer and air intakes are slightly redesigned. Every petrol-powered vehicle now comes with all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard, so you needn’t pay more for those options, but most importantly, there is a plug-in hybrid called the P300e. This example has a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, which is good for 34 miles of pure EV driving. This isn’t a boring eco-warrior though, it will also sprint from 0-60 mph in just 6.1 seconds - which is excellent. The new E-Pace is on sale now and available within 14 days based on UK stock, with prices starting from £32,575.
4. Jaguar I-Pace
The all-electric I-Pace has to be one of the most exciting models to come from Jaguar in a fair while. The brand’s debut EV has taken the market by storm and has widely been received as one of the best all-electric SUVs on the market. The 5 seat SUV is able to return up to a massive 292 miles of range on a single charge, meaning it’s more than capable of seamlessly sliding into people's lives without users having to make any dramatic lifestyle changes. The car itself is extremely modern and futuristic inside, but buyers also appreciate there is up to 656 litres of luggage space available for day to day demands, such as the supermarket run or a nice stay-cation. While all that practicality and functionality is good, we’re sure a lot of drivers want to know how it actually drives. Well happily, we can report the I-Pace feels more like a sports car than a medium-sized crossover thanks to its low centre of gravity and tactile steering. The model also has 4 wheel drive and just shy of 400 horses to play with… which is more than most of us will ever need. The I-Pace is on sale right now and prices start from £65,195 which makes it more affordable than the comparable Tesla and Audi models.
3. Jaguar F-Type
Summer is just around the corner and what better way to spend it than behind the wheel of one of the most stunning cars on the road? The F-Type has been in the UK for a number of years now but it hasn’t aged one bit, and the latest facelift brings it right up to speed with modern competition. The F-Type now appears slightly sharper thanks to subtle, more angular body lines - particularly around the air intakes. The biggest improvement for the 2020 model is the infotainment system which is now much more innovative and can finally compete with the likes of the Audi Virtual Cockpit, which is in the TT. The F-Type is available as both a convertible and coupe, but the big spenders among us will be slightly disappointed to find out the top of the range ‘SVR’ model is no longer on sale, and that 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine now resides in the new ‘R’ model. The F-Type is on sale now and in stock with prices starting from £54,510 - so hurry if you want to get yours in time for spring!
2. Jaguar XE
Jaguar’s XE was their first ‘junior saloon’ model. It set out to rival the likes of the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class saloon and it delivered on all fronts. The XE is a more unique, off-the-wall choice than either of those two german alternatives, sure, but it's a hell of a car to drive and the diesel engines make it an excellent car for family purposes and business use. The XE went on sale back in 2015 and is a lightweight machine with rear-wheel drive which makes it great fun to drive, but the changes made it in 2020 make it a great car to own. Plusher cabin materials have been added alongside a wealth of technology updates - including a wide screen camera in the rearview mirror. The 2.0 litre diesel is still the top seller while we wait for electric and hybrid alternatives, but if you’re on the hunt for something economical right now then you won’t be unsettled by the 58.5 mpg on offer. The XE is on sale right now from your local Jaguar dealership and prices start from £29,635.
1. Jaguar XF
And last but not least is the XF. Jaguar’s executive saloon went on sale back in 2008 and has firmly remained one of the most desirable on the market ever since. The XF has evolved considerably since it was first launched and the latest update for 2021 offers the most complete and well-rounded XF to date. Of course the XF is almost tardis-like inside, with plenty of legroom for all occupants and the cabin is simply dripping with leather. Better still, there is up to 459 litres of luggage space available - more than good enough for golf clubs and the supermarket. Many writers have said the interior is ‘world class’ and we’d have to agree. The combination between premium materials and advanced technology is almost unparalleled. Sales figures haven’t been great for the XF in recent years (with 2020 obviously being particularly horrific) but we’re confident that this latest version is able to steal a healthy market share from the more traditional saloon models on the market. There are petrol, diesels and mild-hybrid versions to choose from as well as countless trim levels. The XF is on sale as either a Saloon or a Sportbrake (estate) with either rear wheel drive or all-wheel drive right now - prices starting from £32,585 and £35,990 respectively.
