Both Bentley and Rolls-Royce still make all of their cars in the UK

Bentley and Rolls-Royce both announce record years in success story for British manufacturing

Bentley has announced it passed the 15,000 sales threshold for the first time in 2022 whilst Rolls-Royce also revealed it had sold more than 6,000 cars in a year for the first time, too.

Bentley had already beaten its highest profit figure of £325.8m by July and its strong end of year performance will mean that record profit figure reaches even greater heights.

In total, Bentley made 15,174 sales in 2022, a 4% improvement compared with the previous record of 14,659 set in 2021 with demand driven largely by the addition of new models strong demand from abroad.

All Bentley models are still made in Crewe.

Rolls-Royce has enjoyed a “particularly strong year-on-year growth” during 2022 as a result of strong interest globally in the brand.

Some 6,021 cars were delivered to customers last year having been manufactured in Goodwood, a rise of 8% compared with 2021.

The value of bespoke commissions also reached record levels in 2022, with clients “willing to pay around half a million euros (£440,000) for their unique Rolls-Royce motor car”, according to the BMW-owned company.
