Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula 1 supremo, is selling 69 legendary cars from his private collection. Spanning over 50 years, many of these vehicles have rarely, if ever, been seen by the public. For collectors, this represents a rare chance to acquire a piece of motorsport history.
The collection features some of F1’s most iconic cars, including Ferraris driven by champions Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher. It also boasts the groundbreaking Brabham BT46B “fan car,” designed by Gordon Murray, which famously dominated the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix before being retired.
Other highlights include Sir Stirling Moss’s Vanwall VW10, Mike Hawthorn’s championship-winning Ferrari Dino, and Alberto Ascari’s Ferrari 375 F1, which triumphed at the Italian Grand Prix. The lineup also features the first-ever Ferrari 312 F1 and the legendary Maserati 250F.
At 94 years old, Ecclestone says the decision to sell is practical. "It’s time to consider their future," he explained, adding that he doesn’t want to burden his wife with their upkeep. "I can’t take them with me, no matter how big the mausoleum."
With the collection estimated to be worth hundreds of millions, this sale is sure to turn heads. Stay tuned for updates on when these extraordinary cars hit the market.
