Driver handed a penalty for putting other road users at risk in a bizarre incident

Car driving with two unsecured sofas hanging out of the rear, and side, pulled over by police on the motorway

Just what were they thinking?

Police officers in Kent were left stunned by a driver who clearly thought it was ok to take two unsecured sofas down the motorway with them literally hanging out of his car.

Officers reported the car was driving along the M20, near junction 11, in Kent on Thursday 19th May, with the driver's car 'exactly like you see in the photos' – two bungee cords were all that was preventing the furniture spilling out onto the road.

Officers spotted the car when it was traveling at around 60mph, and, when it was pulled over, they found the two bungee cords were loosely held in place with a single-seater hanging out of the side door and a two-piece out of the rear.

The driver's actions put other road users at risk and was issued with a traffic offence report for using a vehicle in a dangerous manner.
