A father of two was left helpless after a stranger left their Range Rover on their driveway while they jetted off for a small break.

Complete stranger leaves car unattended on family’s drive near Manchester Airport for days

Zekarias Haile told the Manchester Evening News he couldn't access his garden or take out his bins because the vehicle was in the way.

And, to only worsen his frustration, Zekarias called the Greater Manchester Police who refused to help as a criminal offence had not been committed.

The 51-year-old, his wife and their two children live on Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe – just a short hop from Manchester Airport where sky high parking prices have seen criminal gangs run ad hoc parking operations in the area.

No only that, but increasing numbers of careless holidaymakers have been seemingly happy to virtually abandon their vehicles given little to no action ever appears to be taken.

Zekarias told the Manchester Evening News: "Someone, without my permission, had put the car there and they didn’t care.

“I just went out and it was there. Then it was there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. On Monday morning when we woke up it was gone.”

The greed of Airport bosses certainly has to be looked at as a cause for this behaviour, with drop off fares at the Airport costing £5 for five minutes and £6 for 10 minutes. Staying over 10 minutes will result in a whopping £25 overstay charge.
