Built by Hyundai, the Boulder gives us an early look at a new kind of vehicle the brand is working on. It previews a future body-on-frame platform - a stronger, more durable setup typically used for proper off-roaders and pickups. This new platform will eventually support a mid-size pickup truck planned for the US market by 2030. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely this model will be sold in the UK.
In terms of design, the Boulder looks ready for extreme terrain. It has a boxy shape, high ground clearance, and large 37-inch tyres. These features improve its ability to tackle steep climbs, drops, and uneven surfaces - key for serious off-roading.
