Jaguar’s I-PACE fights off the competition

Jaguar Takes the Top Spot at the UK Car Of The Year Awards 2019

Jaguar has taken the UK Car of the Year 2019 title with their I-PACE and not only did the EV model take the top spot it was also named Best Executive car.

John Challen, director of the UK Car of the Year Awards said, “As manufacturers take electric vehicles more seriously, Jaguar is leading the pack with I-PACE, which offers fantastic range and performance as well as a stylish and spacious interior for driver and passengers.”

Since the inception of the UK Car of the Years Awards six years ago, it is the third time that the winner has been battery-powered.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover MD, said: “This latest major award for I-PACE is something we can all be extremely proud of. This car was conceived, designed and engineered in Britain, so to have a selection of the nation’s leading automotive journalists vote it as the overall UK Car of the Year against some stiff competition is a special moment for us.”

The I-PACE beat the Alpine A110 and the Volvo XC40 in what was a closely fought contest between the models and the Suzuki Jimny just lost out to being in the top three.

Regit tested the I-PACE at the end of 2018 describing it as a giant leap for Jaguar and one that proves that electrically-powered SUVs can be luxurious, economical to run and deliver blisteringly-quick driving dynamics.
