MG previews the CyberX, a bold new electric SUV aimed at younger drivers. Packed with smart tech and built on MG’s next-gen EV platform, it debuts at the Shanghai motor show.

MG has just dropped a preview of the CyberX, its upcoming electric SUV — and it's shaping up to be something totally different. This will be the second model in MG’s futuristic “Cyber” line-up, following the launch of the Cyberster roadster last year.

From the first images, the CyberX looks more rugged and adventurous than anything MG currently offers. Think boxier, bolder, and made for people who want their car to match an outdoorsy, on-the-go lifestyle.

Expect illuminated badges, full-width LED light bars front and back, and a vibe that puts it in the same league as the upcoming Smart #5. The full reveal is set to happen at the Shanghai motor show.

MG created the Cyber brand to attract younger drivers — starting in China, but with big global plans. The Cyberster is already available in the UK, and the CyberX is expected to follow.

Over the next two years, MG plans to launch eight new models across sports cars, saloons, and SUVs, and the CyberX will be one of the first to use SAIC’s new E3 electric platform. That means better efficiency, more powertrain options, and a big step forward in performance and flexibility.

It’ll also feature SAIC’s new cell-to-body (CTB) tech, which integrates the battery into the body of the car — cutting weight and boosting strength.

Inside, expect MG’s all-new Zebra 3.0 operating system, bringing smarter voice controls and smoother connectivity. Plus, it’s getting Horizon Robotics’ J6 chip, enabling next-gen features like driver monitoring, smarter navigation, and semi-autonomous driving.

While MG is still keeping exact performance and battery specs under wraps, the CyberX is clearly being built with younger drivers in mind — tech-savvy, style-conscious, and ready for what’s next.
