Miracle escape: Dad and toddler survive terrifying A1 crash with lorry

A father and his two-year-old daughter miraculously escaped with only minor injuries after their BMW was dragged 100 meters along the central barrier of the A1 following a crash with a lorry.

The collision happened on the southbound side near Catterick, North Yorkshire, when the BMW was hit by a lorry carrying metal piping.

According to Richmond Fire Station, which shared details on social media, the crash occurred at 9:16 AM on Monday. Emergency services rushed to the scene, temporarily stopping traffic.

"Amazingly minor injuries but could have been so much worse." the fire station posted.

Traffic has since resumed, but further closures may be needed for vehicle recovery.
