With 402bhp, upgraded handling and a sharper design, the Supersport 400 takes Morgan performance to a new level

Morgan Supersport 400: The most powerful Morgan ever arrives

The new Morgan Supersport 400 is the most powerful – and most expensive - car the company has ever made. Morgan describes it as the “purest expression” of its Supersport model.

Traditionally, Morgan cars haven’t needed huge power to feel exciting to drive. That changes with the Supersport 400. It produces 402bhp and 500Nm of torque, making it the most powerful production Morgan so far. That’s a clear step up from the standard Supersport’s 335bhp. It should also sound louder and more aggressive, thanks to a new high-flow Active Performance Exhaust System.

The engine is the same 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six used in the regular Supersport. It’s sourced from BMW and also appears in models like the Z4 M40i, M440i and the latest Toyota Supra.

Prices start at £112,965 plus VAT, making it more expensive than the £102,000 standard Supersport. However, the upgrades go beyond just more power and a new exhaust.

For example, Morgan’s Dynamic Handling Pack now comes as standard. This includes specially developed adjustable suspension at the front and rear, with revised settings to improve stability when cornering. The suspension geometry and damping have also been updated, although a limited-slip differential is still optional.

In terms of design, the Supersport 400 builds on the standard car’s long bonnet, sweeping rear and classic grille. It adds functional front wing vents and lighter 19-inch forged alloy wheels, finished in mid-silver as standard or dark bronze as an option.

Inside, the car keeps Morgan’s traditional style, with full leather upholstery and dark wood trim across the dashboard and doors. New Alcantara options are available, including black or two-tone combinations, along with a unique stitching pattern throughout.

While the standard Supersport uses a modern BMW-style gear selector, the 400 offers an optional aluminium version designed to better match the car’s classic interior.

Order books for the Supersport 400 are open now. Morgan says this model is the start of a wider plan, with more limited-run cars expected to be introduced over the next 18 months.
