Noel Gallagher’s old Bentley Turbo R is up for sale at £1.2 million – 47 times its value. Discover the wild story behind the car he never drove and why it’s turning heads.

Ever wanted to own a slice of British rock history? Noel Gallagher’s old Bentley Turbo R is now on sale – but you’ll need seriously deep pockets. The 1997 motor, which the Oasis legend once called his “pride and joy”, is going for a whopping £1.2 million on Auto Trader.

That’s not a typo. £1.2 million.

Under the bonnet is a beastly 6.8L engine – but funnily enough, Noel never actually drove it. He gave up on learning after getting mobbed by fans mid-lesson back in the ‘90s. So, like most of his luxury car collection, the Bentley mostly sat parked while he got chauffeured around in style.

The car’s a proper throwback, too. Finished in a rich red and fitted with cream leather seats and wood trim, it basically screams rockstar. And if that wasn’t enough, the reg plate reads “OA6I6 2” – a cheeky nod to Oasis and the reunion happening this summer.

But here’s the wild bit – even pristine Turbo R models with barely any miles on the clock usually top out around £25k. This one’s done 100,000 miles, and experts reckon it’s really worth between £12k and £17k. So yeah… £1.2 million is a 47x markup.

The car was registered on March 25, 1997, and the logbook shows six owners over its 28-year lifespan – including Gallagher himself. It’s said to be in excellent nick and “surprisingly reliable” for its age. It can hit 150mph, though maybe not straight away after all this time.

Auto Trader’s editorial director Erin Baker even called it “one for the history books.” But let’s be real – it feels like the seller’s banking on Oasis fans getting giddy before the reunion tour kicks off in July.

As for Noel and his driving history? It's a saga.

Back in the day, he was doing a driving lesson in Slough when the instructor literally took him to her mum’s house for a photo. Then the local school bell rang, and kids came charging at him like he was handing out backstage passes. He was sitting in a red Nissan Micra with an L-plate on top, thinking, "never, never again am I getting in a car".'

Since then, he’s splashed out on cars he’s never driven – including a vintage 1967 Jaguar he forgot he even bought. It arrived on a low-loader and he thought it was someone else’s car. It had nine miles on the clock after five years.

He’s even been banned from driving (again, without a licence) after failing to name the driver responsible for speeding fines racked up in his chauffeur-driven Range Rover. That cost him a court date and over £1,000 in fines.

If you’re still tempted to live the Gallagher dream (minus the licence), you can check out the listing now on Auto Trader. Just don’t expect to pay anything close to what the car’s actually worth.
