The Jaguar Type 00 Looks Almost Unreal on the Road

The final version is expected to debut by the end of this year.

Jaguar made waves last December when it unveiled the Type 00 Concept in Miami. Official images showcased a bold, blocky design in heavily stylised renders—so much so that many assumed it was just a digital model. But as it turns out, the real car looks just as surreal in person.

Now, we’re seeing it in motion on actual streets, and the effect is no less striking. The matte blue exterior absorbs light in a way that almost erases detail, emphasising the car’s deliberately minimalistic design. And that’s because there isn’t much exterior detail to speak of—just clean surfaces and sharp angles.

Jaguar recently put the Type 00 on display in an unexpected setting: Paris Fashion Week. The car made a surprise appearance, chauffeuring actor Barry Keoghan, known for The Killing of a Sacred Deer and more recently for his role as the clueless boyfriend in Sabrina Carpenter’s Please Please Please music video.

Jaguar hasn’t confirmed any formal collaboration with Keoghan, but the brand is clearly positioning the Type 00 as more than just a car—it’s an artistic statement. First unveiled during Miami Art Week, it now made its way to one of the biggest fashion events of the year.

For Paris, Jaguar swapped the concept’s original pink for a deep blue shade called French Ultramarine. The matte finish gives it a subdued but futuristic aesthetic that works well with the car’s radical design.

The Type 00 is nearly featureless apart from rectangular brass ingots mounted low behind the front wheel arches. The fastback roofline eliminates the rear window entirely, replacing it with cameras for rear visibility.

Inside, the minimalism continues—just two seats, a pair of digital displays, and a central spine running from front to back. Instead of a traditional rear window, there’s a powered panel that opens to access the cargo area.

Jaguar pronounces Type 00 as “zero-zero,” and this concept serves as a preview of its long-awaited next-generation production car. The final version is expected to debut by the end of this year.
