The Dacia Bigster is here and its set to shake up the budget SUV market, offering size, practicality, and value without the hefty price tag.

The New Dacia Bigster: A Spacious SUV for under £25,000

The highly anticipated Dacia Bigster is now available to order in the UK, offering a large, rugged SUV at a starting price of £24,995—less than a Vauxhall Astra. With three trim levels and multiple engine options, including a new hybrid system, the Bigster delivers practicality and value in a competitive market.

Bigster Pricing & Key Features

  • Expression (£24,995) – 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
  • Journey (£26,245) – 19-inch alloy wheels, upgraded upholstery, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and high beam assist.
  • Extreme (£26,494) – Adds a panoramic sunroof, modular roof bars, washable seat covers, and rubber floor mats. Even the hybrid version remains under £30,000, making it cheaper than a Hyundai Tucson or Skoda Karoq.

Design and Practically

The Bigster's bold styling takes cues from the smaller Duster, featuring an upright front end, sleek headlights, and rugged cladding. Inside, it offers 667 litres of boot space, outclassing the Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage. Dacia's YouClip system adds practical storage solutions, with accessories like a tablet holder, coat hangers, and storage pouches.

Engines and Driving

Three engine options are available:

  • 1.20-litre petrol (140hp, FWD, manual) - Standard engine with six-speed manual transmission.
  • 1.2-litre petrol (130hp,AWD, manual) - One of the few family SUVs offering all-wheel drive with a manual gearbox.
  • New Hybrid (155hp, automatic, FWD) - Combines a petrol engine with two electric motors, allowing electric-only driving in city traffic. Dacia claims it can run in EV mode 80% of the time in urban areas.

The Dacia Bigster is set to shake up the budget SUV market, offering size, practicality, and value without the hefty price tag. Deliveries start this spring.
