There's some great cars landing in the UK this year but the electric SUV range is probably going to be the most hotly contested market. We've picked out three of our favourites here...
Audi Q6 e-tron
The Audi Q6 e-tron is one of the most hotly anticipated cars arriving in the UK this year - full stop.
Audi has really nailed the aesthetics of its full EV range by creating arguably the best-looking line up of electric cars available to me and you.
The Q6 is powered by two electric motors, delivering 382bhp that can take it from 0 to 62 mph in under 6 seconds.
In the sportier SQ6 variant, with launch control activated, power peaks at 509bhp, slashing the 0-62 mph time to just 4.3 seconds.
Audi says you'll get 381 miles on a single charge, surpassing the Tesla Model Y by approximately 50 miles and you can add 158 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging. Recharging from 10 to 80% capacity takes 21 minutes.
The Q6 officially launched in March and is available to order now, with prices starting at just under £70,000.
Porsche Macan
The Porsche Macan EV was unveiled in February and immediately got people talking. Priced similarly to the Q6 e-tron at a shade under £70,000, both the 4 and Turbo models are four-wheel drive.
The 4 comes with synchronous motors on both the front and rear, which are also found in the Audi Q6, delivering impressive power outputs of 382bhp and 479lb ft.
Meanwhile, the Turbo boasts a similar front motor but a more potent rear one exclusive to Porsche, resulting in an impressive 630bhp and 833 lb ft. Both models offer air suspension, which is optional on the 4 and standard on the Turbo. The Turbo also offers four-wheel steering as an optional feature for £1445.
Range Rover EV
The upcoming Range Rover EV is set to redefine luxury SUVs with its iconic design.
Buyers can join the waiting list, but the full reveal isn't expected until late 2024.
While specific performance details for the new Range Rover haven't been announced, top brass have been said it will surpass other luxury electric SUVs in terms of towing, wading, and all-terrain capabilities, boasting the ability to wade through waters as deep as 850mm.
The suggestion that the Range Rover Electric will deliver performance "comparable" to the current V8 model hints at a total output close to the 523bhp offered by that version. It's anticipated to utilise a dual-motor system, enhancing its four-wheel-drive capabilities and incorporating features like torque vectoring to elevate its off-road prowess.
With a sleek profile and eco-friendly engineering, the Range Rover EV is bound to get heads turning and will no doubt be popular - even if the rumoured price tag of £150,000 proves to be true.
