Chery has unveiled its new flagship SUV, the seven-seat Tiggo 9. This plug-in hybrid offers an impressive 91 miles of electric-only driving and will go on sale in December, starting from £43,105.
With a 2,800mm wheelbase, the Tiggo 9 provides a proper seven-seat layout (2+3+2). The second row slides and reclines electrically, while the third row folds flat to create between 819 and 2,021 litres of boot space.
Under the skin, the Tiggo 9 CSH uses a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine working alongside twin electric motors and a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. Combined, the system produces 428PS and 580Nm of torque, giving a 0–62mph time of 5.4 seconds.
A 34.5kWh battery enables the long electric range and supports DC rapid charging up to 71kW, allowing a 30–80% top-up in around 18 minutes. It also offers 6.6kW Vehicle-to-Load capability for powering external devices.
Inside, the Tiggo 9 comes well equipped as standard. You get heated and ventilated eco-leather seats, and the front seats include a multi-programme massage function. There’s also a Smart Power tailgate, a 540-degree camera system, automatic parking, and remote engine and climate start.
Tech is led by a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a Head-Up Display. A 14-speaker Sony audio system, plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, round out the infotainment package.
