Nissan unveils next-gen Leaf with 375-mile range — Made in the UK

Nissan has just dropped the full details on its brand-new Leaf electric car — and it's a big one. The third-generation Leaf will be built right here in the UK and is set to hit the roads later this year.

This version promises up to 375 miles on a single charge, making it one of the most impressive EVs in its class for range.

It’s also the first model to launch under Nissan’s new EV game plan, developed at their R&D centre in Cranfield, Bedfordshire. The batteries? They’re coming from the UK’s newest gigafactory (AESC), located right next to the Nissan plant in Sunderland where the Leaf will be built.

Alan Johnson, one of the top bosses at Nissan’s manufacturing division, said “It’s with immense pride that we unveil the third-generation of our pioneering electric Leaf, 12 years after we brought EV and battery manufacturing to the UK.

“It’s a testament to the skill of our world-class team that we can bring into mass production a vehicle with such advanced technology and aerodynamic design.”

James Taylor, MD at Nissan GB, added, “Leaf is a pioneering electric vehicle that has encouraged thousands to make the switch to electric motoring – and best of all, it’s built here in Britain.”

Nissan’s also got more electric action coming soon — the all-electric Micra (designed in London) lands later this year, and a smaller city EV is planned for 2026.
