Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre: The Most Powerful Rolls-Royce Ever

A Bold New Chapter in Performance and Luxury

Rolls-Royce has unveiled its most powerful car to date—the all-electric Black Badge Spectre. Priced at £320,000, this super-coupe features cutting-edge technology inspired by the legendary Spitfire fighter planes of World War II.

Unleashing New Levels of Power

With a striking presence on 23-inch wheels, the Black Badge Spectre introduces a new performance-enhancing feature: the 'Infinity Mode' button. Inspired by the power boost mechanisms used in Spitfires, this function unleashes the full 659 horsepower (485kW), sharpening throttle response and enhancing driving dynamics. This is a notable upgrade from the standard Spectre, which produces 585 horsepower (430kW). Additionally, a new 'Spirited Mode' acts as launch control, momentarily increasing torque to 1,075Nm for rapid acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.

Designed for the Bold and Unconventional

Designed for affluent, unconventional buyers, Rolls-Royce describes Black Badge owners as 'fearless rule-breakers' seeking a darker, edgier version of the Spectre. The car's bold aesthetic reflects this persona, with vibrant paint options like Vapour Violet inspired by 1980s and '90s club culture.

Enhanced Handling and Ride Comfort

The Black Badge Spectre is not just about increased power—it also features a recalibrated chassis for improved handling. The steering has been weighted for a more dynamic feel, and roll stabilisation adjustments reduce body movement during cornering. The suspension has been refined to maintain the signature 'Magic Carpet Ride' while minimising squat under acceleration and braking.

A Striking and Customisable Interior

Inside, the Black Badge Spectre continues its striking design. The illuminated fascia incorporates over 5,500 fiber-optic stars set against a Piano Black backdrop, while the Infinity symbol—a hallmark of Rolls-Royce’s Black Badge series—is subtly woven into the design. Customisation options extend to 44,000 exterior colours and an array of illuminated treadplates in ten hues. Instrument dials can be configured in bold colour themes, including Vivid Grellow and Synth Wave.

Electric Powertrain and Charging Capabilities

The Spectre’s electric powertrain delivers an estimated range of 306-329 miles on a full charge. Using a high-powered 195kW DC charger, the battery can be replenished to 80% in 34 minutes, while a standard 22kW home charger takes approximately 5.5 hours. The car’s propulsion system consists of two electric motors—one on each axle—delivering a combined 102kWh lithium-ion battery capacity. The Spectre also features a top speed of 155 mph.

Key Specifications

  • Dimensions: Length: 5,490mm / Width: 2,144mm (including mirrors) / Height: 1,575mm / Wheelbase: 3,210mm

Client-Driven Development

Ahead of its official release, Rolls-Royce discreetly tested the Black Badge Spectre with select clients, gathering data on their driving behaviors. The feedback helped shape the car’s high-performance character, ensuring it met the expectations of its elite customer base.

Despite its deep ties to British aviation history, the Spectre Black Badge is a thoroughly modern Rolls-Royce, blending luxury, power, and exclusivity with cutting-edge EV technology.
