Looking for a new car in 2025? MG has you covered—from budget hatchbacks to sporty EVs. Explore the full UK range now.

The complete guide to MG’s 2025 UK vehicle range

MG has come a long way from its roots as a classic British sports car brand. Now backed by Chinese automotive giant SAIC Motor, MG has transformed into one of the fastest-growing car manufacturers in the UK. Their current line-up offers something for almost every type of driver—whether you’re after an affordable hatchback, a family SUV, or a fully electric car packed with tech. Here’s a complete guide to MG’s current vehicle range available in the UK as of 2025.

Petrol and mild-hybrid options

Starting with traditional combustion engines, MG continues to offer petrol-powered cars alongside mild hybrid options to keep running costs low without jumping fully into electrification.

The MG3 remains the brand’s small hatchback offering. It’s a popular choice among first-time drivers and those looking for a value-focused car for city driving.

MG3

A newly introduced mild-hybrid version—badged as MG3 Hybrid+—adds a small electric motor to assist the petrol engine. It’s not a full hybrid but does improve fuel efficiency and offers smoother low-speed driving. The MG3 range starts from around £16,995, making it one of the most affordable new cars in the UK.

Next is the MG ZS, a compact SUV that’s just had a refresh for 2024–2025. This new model introduces a Hybrid+ variant as well, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a supporting electric motor.

MG ZS

Together, they deliver a decent blend of performance and economy, ideal for families or commuters who want SUV practicality without switching to a full EV. The ZS range is competitively priced, starting from just under £19,995 for the base petrol model and around £22,495 for the hybrid.

The MG HS sits at the top of MG’s SUV range. The standard petrol version offers more space and comfort than the ZS, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine under the bonnet. However, the real draw is the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).

MG HS

With a large 24.7 kWh battery, this model can travel up to 75 miles on electric power alone—more than enough to cover most daily journeys without using fuel. Prices for the PHEV version start from approximately £31,995, while the petrol-only model is available from around £25,995.

Fully electric MG models

MG has made significant strides in the electric car market. It now offers one of the most diverse and affordable ranges of electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK.

The MG4 EV has become the brand’s standout success. It’s a sleek hatchback that comes in several versions, including Standard, Long Range, and the high-performance MG4 XPower.

MG4 EV

Depending on the version, you can expect between 218 and 323 miles of range, with the XPower model boasting dual motors and 0–62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Prices start from around £26,995, making it one of the most accessible electric hatchbacks in its class.

A new arrival for 2025 is the MGS5 EV, a compact electric SUV that’s positioned to eventually replace the outgoing ZS EV.

MGS5 EV

Built on a more modern platform shared with the MG4, the MGS5 offers sharp looks, improved efficiency, and better driving dynamics. With up to 298 mile WLTP range, it's a strong contender for those wanting a stylish, long-range EV without breaking the bank.

The MG ZS EV is still available, but stock is being phased out in favour of the newer MGS5. While it remains a solid entry point into the electric SUV market, the MGS5 is expected to offer more in terms of performance and features.

The electric roadster: MG Cyberster

Perhaps the most exciting model in MG’s current line-up is the MG Cyberster. This fully electric convertible sports car marks a return to the brand’s root, but with a modern twist. With bold styling, scissor doors, and a choice of rear- or dual-motor powertrains, it’s one of the few electric sports cars currently on sale.

MG Cyberster

The Cyberster offers up to 316 miles of range and accelerates from 0–62 mph in as little as 3.2 seconds. Prices start from around £54,995, and it’s already turning heads as one of 2025’s most anticipated performance EVs.

Looking ahead: what’s next for MG?

MG has made it clear that its future is electric. The company aims to become a fully electric brand by 2030, in line with wider industry trends and UK government targets. In addition to the current line-up, MG is expected to launch more electric SUVs and potentially bring the Marvel R to the UK market—a more premium EV already on sale in Europe and China.

Summary: MG’s UK line-up at a glance

Model Type Powertrain Options Starting Price
MG3 Hatchback Petrol, Mild Hybrid £16,995
MG ZS Compact SUV Petrol, Mild Hybrid £19,995
MG HS Mid-Size SUV Petrol, Plug-in Hybrid £25,995
MG4 EV Electric Hatchback Battery Electric £26,995
MGS5 EV Compact Electric SUV Battery Electric £28,495

MG’s current line-up is one of the most diverse on the UK market, with options for drivers at every stage—from new drivers looking for an affordable hatchback to families wanting low-emission SUVs and even EV fans who crave sporty thrills. The brand’s commitment to affordable electrification has helped it stand out, and 2025 looks like another strong year for MG in the UK.
