A high performance grand tourer from Hyundai? Yep, you said it.

If we told you this came from an extension of Hyundai, well, you wouldn’t believe us, right?

This is the Genesis X Concept. An electric grand tourer from, yes, you guessed it, Hyundai’s luxury arm.

For this writer at least, there’s certainly hints of Aston Martin in the design of the front grille in particular, although whether I was influenced by the British Racing Green and similarities in the logo before writing that will be one for you to decide.

Others have pointed towards a similarity in the side profile with the Audi A5, and that maybe shouldn’t be a great surprise given the head of design, SangYup Lee, is formerly of Audi.

We know very little in terms of what’s under the bonnet. Other than that it will include ‘state-of-the-art technologies’, which, let’s face it, what doesn’t these days, any rumours, leaks or hard facts on performance are virtually non existent.

So it’s a case of wait and see on this one for now, but given its eye catching aesthetics, we’re certainly keen for more.
