When the Morris Minor became Britain’s first million selling car back in 1960 Morris produced a commemorative run of 349 lilac-liveried “Minor Millions” to celebrate the production milestone. Now there is only one “Minor Million” left.

The first Morris Minor was designed by Alec Issigonis who then went on to create the Mini, the first Morris Minor was produced in 1948 and the millionth Minor on December 22nd in 1960. The much-loved Morris Minor, affectionately known as the "Moggie", was finally phased out of production in 1972 after notching up sales of 1,619,958.

The last of the Minor Million will be auctioned on November 8th at the Charterhouse auction during the Restoration Show at Shepton Mallet near Bristol. The Morris Minor was discovered in a neglected state by an enthusiast, who owns the car to this day. Accident damaged and re-painted red, it was in need of restoration, but it was only in the 1990s that work started. The car was restored at a cost of £15,000 at a Worthing technical college and returned to its original lilac livery. This unique Morris Minor is estimated at £25,000-£30,000 but estimate it is, as this is the first time it's been on the market in almost 40 years. One thing that is for certain whoever buys it will have the only one in the world.
