Jaguar report the new Jaguar XKR with its all new AJ-V8 GEN III R engine is capable of 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds. An electronic limiter intervenes at 155mph, without the limiter Jaguar believe that over three miles a minute are possible with the aerodynamics and six speed ZF automatic transmission. The convertible Jaguar XKR is 50kg heavier than the coupe but retains the same performance figures.
The latest Jaguar XKR gets an even more aggressive front end and LED indicator lights on its wing mirrors. At the rear, the bumper sits lower and there are LED tail light clusters. This latest generation Jaguar XKR model is built from entirely different stuff. The advanced aluminum construction and massively superior technology embodied in the latest Jaguar XKR raise its game enormously. The interior seems brighter and airier with clever use of colour combinations; there is also more space around the pedal box and under the steering wheel. The wheelbase has increased by 162mm, and rear occupants will notice the difference immediately.
Jaguar XKR-specific bits include that more aggressive front bumper with colour keyed finish that incorporates tall air intakes on each side, aluminum trimmed side power vents, old-school bonnet louvres and an aluminum trim on the mesh grilles. The 20-inch alloys are standard together with heated and cooled seats, Jaguar Premium Surround Sound, alloy pedals and a heated windscreen. Blake brake callipers with an ‘R’ logo are fitted, as is a quad exhaust system. Prices start at approximately £75,000.
