If you are a VW Beetle fan then you may want to get your hands on the new legendary GSR model. Only three thousand five hundred models will be made worldwide so this is quite clearly a real ‘limited edition’. Only one hundred are available in the UK so you need to be quick, you can order now and pick up this fantastic limited edition in September.

Just like the original which made its debut forty years ago the body of this new version is yellow. The 1973 version had a bonnet and bootlid painted in matt black as were the bumpers, the look was complete with black/yellow side stripes above the door sills. The new GSR also boasts the same look as the bonnet and bootlid are also black as is the roof and exterior mirror trims. There is black/yellow strips with ‘GSR’ lettering ensuring a unique silhouette above the side sills. The bumpers are yellow in new R Line design and then a fantastic large spoiler completes the look at the rear in yellow and black. If you don’t want to stand out in the crowd and turn heads then there is the option of ordering the GSR in Platinum Grey and Black which was not an option back in 1973.

This latest model features 19-inch ‘Tornado’ alloy wheels with 235/40 tyres.  The black/yellow interior of the GSR from days gone by featured a leather sports steering wheel and sports seats.  Four decades later this limited edition GSR comes with R-Line racing seats (with fabric covers and contrasting yellow stitching), a high-grip leather sports steering wheel (also with contrasting yellow stitching) and a badge with the car’s special-edition number (1 to 3,500).  The car also boasts an R-Line dash pad, GSR gear stick, leather handbrake lever gaiter and black floor mats with contrasting yellow embroidery.
