The new Porsche Boxster will arrive in the UK this spring and will be on sale from May. The car will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th alongside the Panamera GTS and the 911 Carrera Cabriolet.
The new Boxster is considerably lighter with a longer wheelbase, widened track and larger wheels which significantly enhance the driving dynamics of the mid-engined sports car. These attributes, combined with many other new features including electro-mechanical power steering, result in the new Boxster not only offering superior performance but also up to 15 per cent greater fuel efficiency.
The new power unit fitted in the Boxster delivers 265 hp from a 2.7 litre displacement which is 10 hp more than its larger capacity predecessor. Technically, it is now based on the 3.4-litre engine of the Boxster S. The 3.4-litre now delivers 315 hp 5 hp more than before. Both models feature a manual six-speed gearbox as standard, with the seven-speed dual-clutch Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option.
