Koenigsegg has just dropped a new hypercar, the Sadair’s Spear, and it’s an absolute weapon. Based on the already bonkers Jesko, this limited-edition model turns everything up a notch with sharper aero, more power, and even less weight.
Unlike the Jesko Attack and Absolut, which are named after founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s dad, the Sadair’s Spear gets its name from a horse. Specifically, the racehorse Jesko von Koenigsegg rode during his final jockey race back in 1976. Pretty niche reference, but somehow it works.
So, what makes the Sadair’s Spear special? For starters, it’s packed with aero upgrades: a new double-blade active rear wing, a larger front splitter with moveable flaps underneath, beefier rear diffusers, a new front air dam, and fresh side winglets. Together, they generate a ridiculous 850kg of downforce, so it’ll probably stick to the road like chewing gum on a hot pavement.
It’s also 35kg lighter than the standard Jesko, thanks to lighter suspension parts, less interior soundproofing, and custom carbon-fibre seats. The whole car weighs just 1,320kg, lighter than a Ford Focus. Inside, you get a full-on racing vibe with a six-point harness, but it’s not totally savage. There’s a radio and wireless phone charger too.
Under the bonnet, it’s powered by the same twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 as the Jesko, but tuned to push 1,282bhp on regular fuel or 1,603bhp if you fill it with E85. That’s 25bhp more than the Jesko. No 0–60 times or top speed numbers yet, but don’t forget the Jesko Absolut is theoretically capable of hitting 310mph without the big wing. The Sadair’s Spear won’t be far off, and it’s got carbon-ceramic brakes with custom calipers to make sure it can actually stop too.
Price tag? £3.8 million. But don’t bother saving. All 30 units are already sold out.
