Kia’s dropped the price list for the all-new EV9 GT in the UK — and yep, it’s seriously pricey. You’re looking at £82,185 to get started with the seven-seat version, or £83,185 if you want the slightly posher six-seat setup.
That said, you do get a lot of metal for your money. The standard EV9 is already a huge electric SUV, and the GT version dials everything up — with dual motors pushing out 502bhp and a crazy 546lb ft of torque.
It’s not quite as wild as the 641bhp EV6 GT, but this thing still moves. 0–62mph in 4.6 seconds, and it tops out at 136mph — not bad at all for a three-row family hauler.
It uses the same massive 99.8kWh battery as the regular EV9, but with all that extra power, range takes a bit of a hit — you’ll get up to 280 miles (WLTP) on a full charge. Still, thanks to its 800V charging tech, it can go from 10–80% in just 24 minutes if you find a 350kW charger — perfect for a pit stop on a long trip.
Kia’s calling it a “grand-touring SUV”, and that’s not just a marketing line. It’s got a GT drive mode, adaptive suspension, and a clever Road Preview System that scans ahead and preps the car for rough roads. Basically, it’s trying to make a big, fast SUV feel a bit more... fun.
And it leans into that vibe hard: the GT gets bigger brakes with neon green calipers, exclusive 21-inch alloys, and sporty seats with Alcantara and more neon green inside. You’ll even find paddles behind the wheel that control a fake six-speed gearbox — complete with fake revs and engine noise — like what you get in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. It’s a gimmick, sure, but actually pretty fun.
You can order it now, with first deliveries landing later this year. It comes in white as standard, or you can pick from five other colours for £725 each.
So yeah — the £80k+ Kia is officially here. But at least it’s doing everything it can to feel worth it.
