International star Justin Timberlake unveiled the new Audi A1 at the Geneva Motor Show. This new Audi A1 was as expected; a premium three door hatchback based on the same platform as the VW Polo.
There will be three engines available; the 1.2 TFSI and 1.4 TFSI petrol and the 1.6 TDI, all these engines will feature start/stop and energy recuperation technology. Both petrol engines are capable of over 55 mpg and emit 119g/km co2. The Audi A1 1.6 TDI emits just 102g/km and returns approximately 72mpg.
The exterior of the new Audi A1 is reasonably attractive and the interior is of high standards. The entry-level Audi A1 1.2 TFSI will also get a five-speed manual, but the flagship Audi A1 1.4 TFSI comes with a six-speed manual as standard or the option of Audi's seven-speed S tronic transmission. With the twin-clutch gearbox the Audi A1 makes it to 62mph in 9.1 seconds on the way to a 124mph top speed.
The Audi A1 will be available to order from May and prices are expected to start from £13,000.
