Audi has officially discontinued the traditional A6 model, replacing it with the all-electric A6 e-tron. The new A6 e-tron, now available for order, comes in two body styles: Sportback (hatchback) and Avant (estate). Prices start at £69,900 for the Sportback and £71,700 for the Avant. For those seeking higher performance, the S6 e-tron variants are priced from £97,500 and £99,300, respectively.

These models share the same platform as the recently launched Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan, but they’re designed to be lower and more efficient. The initial UK models will feature a 94.9 kWh battery paired with a single 380hp rear-mounted motor, driving the rear wheels. The S6 versions come equipped with a motor on each axle, delivering a total of 550hp and all-wheel drive.

In terms of range, the Sportback and Avant can achieve up to 463 miles and 437 miles on a single charge, respectively, depending on the variant. The S6 models offer slightly less, with the S6 Sportback capable of up to 405 miles and the S6 Avant up to 388 miles.

Thanks to advanced 800-volt technology and a maximum DC charging capacity of 270 kW, recharging the battery is notably fast. Using a DC fast-charger, the A6 e-tron can gain enough power for up to 192 miles in just 10 minutes. From a 10% charge, it can restore 80% of its capacity in just 21 minutes. The adaptive air suspension system allows the vehicle’s ride height to be adjusted to four different levels, including an efficiency mode that lowers the body by 20mm to enhance aerodynamics, thereby improving energy consumption and driving range.

Buyers can choose from three trim levels: Sport, S line, and Edition 1. Deliveries are expected to begin in February 2025.
